Finally made it to the Yukon Territory. Goodbye British Columbia, hello North.

On Day 25 of my roadtrip to the ARCTIC from LAS VEGAS MAGGIE and we finally crossed into the Yukon.
British Columbia was incredible. Endless mountains, glaciers, rivers, and some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever driven through. But I’ll admit it, I’ve been looking forward to reaching the Yukon for a while now. There’s something about seeing that sign that makes the trip feel different. Like you’re truly heading into the North.
The plan now is simple: keep moving north, spend some time at Liard River Hot Springs, and continue making my way toward Alaska. No strict schedule, just enjoying the road, the campsites, and the places in between.
So far this trip has given us rain, sunshine, snow, wildlife, great people, and more miles than I can count. If the Yukon is even half as good as everyone says it is, the next stretch should be a memorable one.

How to you keep your vehicle so clean while overlanding? My truck looks pretty dirt covered after a hour on dirt roads

The trick is simple: I wash it.
A lot of people seem to think overlanding means your vehicle must remain permanently covered in mud as some sort of badge of honor. I left home on May 1 and won’t be back until late July. If I never washed it, by the end of the trip I’d be driving a small mountain range instead of a Jeep.
Besides, dirt is easy to find. Car washes are the real adventure.

Does the dirt you get on it not wash off next time it rains? I hadn’t washed my truck in a year until recently and it stays Simi clean even in Utah.

Awesome!! I hiked the chillkoot trail from Alaska into Canada when I was a scout in the 80’s. And I’ve been to Alaska twice in the last couple of years. Totally love that part of North America.

Thank you

I have an entire list of things I'm happy to share if you want. I've done the trip via motorcycle, and got into plenty of shenanigans.

Enjoy! Been down that route a few times and never get tired of it. Highly suggest the signpost forest at Watson Lake. Closest thing to a holy site for adventure travelers. I make a "pilgrimage" there every couple of years to leave a new mark. Dawson City is interesting and worth spending a few hours wandering around.
Top of the World Highway is amazing. If you use the Poker Creek crossing into Alaska (Top of the World Hwy) then ask the crossing agent to stamp your passport. They have a special stamp.

Was there yesterday and found some stickers I posted there 7 years ago.

I lived in the Yukon for four years and explored all over. Hit me up if you want some adventure advise :)

Count on it. This place is amazing

Haha, yep. After a few months there on may way to Argentina I knew I had to go back.
So after the Pan-Am I did exactly that and lived there for four years. Winter is utterly jaw dropping.

You're gonna love the Yukon. If you're not going the Dempster route, try to spend time around the Kluane NP.

Doing the Dempster as well but later on the summer.

Did you do the wrap yourself? It looks great!
theloneoverlanders@reddit (OP)
I designed it but a friend installed for me.

That's a beautiful wrap on that truck. Good luck on your journey.

Thank you sir

I was at that sign last summer! Nice toilets across the highway. The sign forest and visitor center in Watson Lake are a nice stop.
