Upgrade recommendations

Hey guys,
Im looking to upgrade my setup so I can play games at max settings with atleast 100+ fps.

My current specs:
5600g
Rx6600
Corsair vengeance pro rgb 2x8gb 3600mhz ddr4
MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II
Corsair cx650f rgb
1080p 144hz monitor

I’ve been looking into an rx9070xt or anything similar so I can later upgrade to a 1440p monitor.

I mainly play:
Forza horizon 6
LMU
ACC
F1 25
Valorant

Cpu might be the bottleneck to get 100+ fps all the time across multiple games. 5600g is kind of a cut down version of the normal 5600, to make space for the iGPU.

9070 XT eats power like crazy, you'll need 700W minimum PSU (according to techpowerup GPU) to handle that 300-350 watts GPU. 5070 Ti is far more power efficient but price is often a concern for that.

OP may need a X3D CPU

OP is the 5800X3D being launched in Australia too?

I really hope they do release the 5800X3D again in AUS. because that would be a viable upgrade for me if I do go for the 9070xt. Maybe once i upgrade the cpu i may need a higher watt psu such as 700+.

Id like to keep my budget under $1k AUD

Yeah, you gotta keep an eye on prerelease. Usually AUS is in the same commercial layer than UK, comparing to US (at least thats our perception from south America)... so the release should be there too. Ive heard of people counting the days to spare their new AM4 X3D CPU, so be aware!

Thanks for your input. I doubt the rest of my system would be using 300w maxing out my current psu, but i will definitely take that into consideration.

In regard to the CPU, ive been holding off AM5 for a while since ram prices are ridiculous. But I do intend to upgrade the CPU in the near future…
