I guess we can’t wait until end of year. Yes I am 401k and Roth pig. I am an insurance whore. I think I spent $1700 a year for my dopey dog’s health plan but he’s going to live forever. Also, Hilton Lifetime Diamond member.

Drivers in my friends company take double even triple per week. Im about to start soon driving with him. Im looking at least 2500 or 3k per week. This doesnt look good. Am I wrong?

Please post your regret post in 6 months for us
Ok-Fan4226@reddit
Why do you think so? How much should a OTR driver get per week? Whats the avg
Expensive_Middle8271@reddit
Bro. Most OTR drivers are making very poor wages, all things considered. Especially if its their first year and they haven't switched to a better company.
Yes, you technically can make six figures, but im willing to bet most drivers are not.
50k - 90k would be my bet for what most OTR drivers make, with the best companies getting you to 100 and maybe a little more.
Ok-Fan4226@reddit
Ive seen statements. They go anywhere from 2500 to 3500 per week
TheCenci@reddit
Is it 1099 or w2?
Ok-Fan4226@reddit
1099
Expensive_Middle8271@reddit
So, no benefits or insurance?
No PTO?
No Bonuses?
No 401k? HSA contributions?
1099 isn't worth it my man. God forbid you get in an accident too and get hurt and/or hurt somebody else. Youre fucked.
Somebody else can hit you, sue you, and you'll be put of pocket for all of it since you have zero protection.
That 2500 - 3500 drops quick when
You calculate just what you're missing.
DathBlah@reddit (OP)
This is weekly W2 with enhanced benefits.
KingNebyula@reddit
It’s most likely 1099 which is still good as long as you have a rockstar CPA
DathBlah@reddit (OP)
Can confirm. When I got my CDL 16 years ago (financial/housing market crisis) I went out with USA Truck for first A driver OTR gig 2012. That was the real financial crisis. Never again
DathBlah@reddit (OP)
This wasn’t a brag. Just joining the club. I do think 11k gross average doesn’t suck.
Ok-Fan4226@reddit
I know, and Im not trying to be rude just want to know more. Thanks for the answers
DathBlah@reddit (OP)
Again I posted this cus every week someone posts what’s your stubs look like. So much for playing along. I get that so many people make more but I know many more make less. Moving forward I will just lurk in the background. lol
Alarmed-Internet4135@reddit
If that’s good for you and you’re happy then good for you. But that’s nothing to brag about.
DathBlah@reddit (OP)
Again not a brag but would be
GroundbreakingAsk438@reddit
huh then what is good to brag about?
Jumpy-Daddy5809@reddit
Stock market gonna crash and stay down forever it can never ever quadruple from Here it’s physically impossible because not that much money exists
DathBlah@reddit (OP)
Markets crash (correction) but the long game always works out. As I age portfolio is adjusted for risk tolerance. Even a catastrophic drop I’ll still be ahead. Should I shove it under a mattress. I assume SS will be gone in a decade or so. If it survives GREAT.
LikwidHappiness@reddit
What's with the massive swings in income lol
DathBlah@reddit (OP)
Mostly OT. I do mess with 401k and Roth IRA percentages monthly. All health, dental, vision, RX and critical illness coverages are the same each week. We have paid holidays so like the week of Memorial Day drops as it won’t apply to OT. Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks suck cus it’s a flat 40h with no OT.
LeagueLost3813@reddit
He said he’s a Roth and 401k whore lol
LikwidHappiness@reddit
Yeah but usually that takes a set amount or percentage every time.
Migistat@reddit
Insurance as well

DathBlah@reddit (OP)
I am out 3-4 nights. Company paid hotel. Back in a Class B which is where I want to stay. As an A driver they pay $100 a night per diem on top of the $60 tax free for meals. So I use to definitely stay in the sleeper but in my old age I like the Hampton Inns
KingNebyula@reddit
You didn’t drop the company or even the kind of work you so
