In the 80s, toys came from Japan.

Transformers? Those were Japanese toys from Bandai and Takara rebranded by Hasbro for American kids.

M.U.S.C.L.E. was collectible Japanese erasers called Kinkeshi.

Lots of examples. We were turning Japanese.
