Is this sexual harassment?

My friend (mid 40s - straight male) who just got his cdl (paid for his own tuition) and is currently in training in one of the trucking companies here in the USA, might be, to me, what it sounds like sexual harassment.
So on his first week of training driving all over US, while on the road, his trainer (50s male) actually said opened the conversation like this “ I’m immature and I admit i’m a pervert” and then brought up Fifty Shades of Grey Audiobook. He asked for permission from my friend if he is ok listening to it. Knowing my friend, he is very nice, wants to get along with everyone and wants to make everyone comfortable, said he is totally fine listening to this audiobook.
IMO, i will never be comfortable listening (or even watching) any sexual related stuff with anyone. Even with my significant other.
I Told my friend it’s not ok. But he disagrees.
A weekend has passed, now this trainer had mentioned that him and his wife are polyamorous and is looking for a female.
To me, it’s giving hint hint. And checking his boundaries.
Am i being overly protective ? Or are my instincts right?

Your friend is about to find out what mmf means. But I suspect it’ll be light on the f.
IMO that’s not cool at all of the trainer. He’s definite abusing his perceived position of power. But if your friend said he’s ok with it then that’s kind of the end of it. It’s between them at the end of the day.

He might be testing boundaries, but idk that its outright harassment. Thats honestly up to your friend. If hes uncomfortable he needs to say something. The book is a little weird, though my issue would be its a bad book lol. The other stuff just sounds like conversation. And he did ask if it was ok to listen to the book, imo that shows hes at least trying not to cross any lines.

I was waiting for the crazy plot twist and I never heard it lol

You sound a prude lol Dude(trainer) is definitely weird, but definitely wouldn't consider it sexual harassment. If your friend is cool with it then I wouldn't worry.

1 if your friend can tolerate that type of audio book without falling asleep he is doing ok. If it bugged him he could simply say "this is too much, please cut it off".
2 if the trainer and his wife are searching for a female to complete their collection what does that have to do with your male friend?
I have heard some nefarious shit, and this trainer is definitely weird, but nothing he has said or done is even remotely sexual. Actually on a 1 to 10 scale of crazy stuff he is barely a 2 on the strange scale. 50 shades is a female book anyhow and would put most dudes to sleep. Now if your friend was a female, this would be a completely different story.

He’s gonna learn most truckers’ brains are fried.
