We found this the other day while cleaning out mom and dad's house. I saw the side of the box and got super excited (they were Quiet Generation, they saved EVERYTHING). But when I finally got it out from under everything, I saw the note. *sigh* Still got a little nostalgic, though! Did anyone else have one of these dinosaurs?

That and the VIC-20 before it. Tons of games!

Still have my Vic 20 with the cassette tape memory storage

Yep, still have one. Photo from Jan 2025 when we hooked all up to show my niece and her boyfriend after a discussion of 80s music media and started getting into computing media and 80s PCs.

that disk drive kills me

Yeah, it is a quite a chunk for reading a 5.25" floppy, but the camera lens distortion is exaggerating its length a bit in that photo.

Had the exact same setup, but it's long gone now. Good memories. Thanks for posting the photo. "Stay a while... Stay forever!"

I still remember seeing this box on a shelf in Dixons in the late 80s and wanting it so bad.
My step dad was into computers so both parents were up for getting me one but it was going to be a christmas present.
When the time came we went to Dixons to buy it and the shelf was empty! I got a BBC Master instead which I think my step father was more keen on. I had used a Commodore 64 and a BBC Model B at this point and new the C64 had better games.
I ended up holding on to that computer till 2021 when I sold it to a BBC engineer who refurbished it!
