How often do I realistically need to strip/clean/lubricate? It hasn’t been fired in a while.
The manual provides detailed instructions on how to disassemble everything and it seems pretty straightforward, but it doesn’t tell me how thoroughly I should be cleaning (just the brush vs using some kind of solvent) or how often. I’ve also seen different advice on where to apply oil.
Any other maintenance tips are appreciated

Frequency will depend on how often / how many rounds you shoot as well as whether you intend to carry it.
If you carry it and only shoot 50-100 rounds every now and then, a quick field strip should be sufficient every 2-3 range trips. For significantly higher round counts and / or more frequent range trips, I'd recommend bumping that up to every other trip at least.
I also make it a point to clean and oil every carry piece at least once a year beyond a basic field strip. You don't have to do a full detail strip necessarily, but make sure to clean your firing pin to keep it from getting gunked up.
Wipe down all the important parts and apply some gun oil or CLP on metal contact points. That's about as far as I take it.

First (deep) cleaning when it's new. I had a new Ed Brown barrel that arrived that really needed a heavy scrub. If you live in a swamp or Miami, I'd clean and oil it monthly. Modern materials really hold hip, but you'll have a few wear areas that wear down to metal. (Slide area.)
Run a bore snake through it after shooting every few hundred rounds, maybe an oiled patch. You'll get the hang of it, when to clean it.
Nice gun. Take some training classes also. I have never shot an auto (over 50 years of hunting/firearms) and it was really helpful.

I field strip clean mine (all handguns) after about 4-500 rounds. I deep clean after 1500-2000 rounds. I oil The 4 points where the slide rides on the grip module. Only after heavy usage. Watch several YOUTUBE videos and go from there.
