Hey everyone,
Looking to pull the trigger on a new ebike Today mainly for my 25 miles daily commuting with uphill and some weekend trails, and I'm trying to figure out what the absolute best options are right now No moped style 🚫
I keep seeing targeted ads for the Crazybird R3 but there aren't a ton any reviews on it yet.
On paper, the specs look decent for a commuter:
52V 15.6Ah 750W Bafang hub motor
Should I stick with the tried and true brands like Aventon/Lectric, best overall ebike so far this year! Max Budget 800$

Stick with a tried and true brand. This way if it needs servicing, shops will service them.

If you want to be strict, Ride1up Portola for $795.
If you want to be sensible, Vanpowers Grand Teton Pro for $899. Nothing else comes close for this price.

Used is a good way to go as well. Upway sells lightly used and overstock bikes and you get get pretty good bang for your buck there. Otherwise I would save up and get a quality ebike. $1500 is a good price point to shoot for.

My mom and dad have liked their Puckipuppy bikes. Stupid name and they also don't use them a ton, but the bikes have done well for the 2ish years they have had them. They are fun to ride. Idk how well they would hold up for daily commuting though.

Some of the crazybird bikes seem to be legacy Juiced re-brands, which is interesting. No clue what electronics are under the hood, but those are the exact same frames.Â

Just save your money and avoid buying junk that will break down and won’t be serviceable.
