4x PCIe connections needed, only 3 cables in the box. Safe to pigtail the GPU?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently putting together a high-end build and ran into a bit of a power delivery math puzzle. I want to make absolutely sure I'm doing this safely before I plug everything in and flip the switch.

My Core Specs:

The Problem:

My components require a total of four 8-pin PCIe connections (3 for the GPU, 1 for the Corsair Hub). However, my Lian Li EDGE 850W only comes with three individual PCIe cables in the box.

The cables do have "pigtail" / daisy-chain connectors on them (two 6+2 heads on a single cable wire).

Proposed Solution:

Someone suggested I wire it like this:

  1. Cable 1: Dedicated separate cable from PSU $\rightarrow$ GPU Port 1
  2. Cable 2: One cable from PSU $\rightarrow$ Daisy-chained across GPU Port 2 and GPU Port 3
  3. Cable 3: Dedicated separate cable from PSU $\rightarrow$ Corsair iCUE LINK System Hub

Given that the Lian Li EDGE is a high-quality ATX 3.1 unit, is it completely safe to run a premium custom board like the XFX 9070 XT with one of its lines daisy-chained like this? Or should I look into getting a different PSU / separate cable configuration?

Would love a second opinion on this before I finish managing these cables. Thanks in advance!
