Hi everyone, I have my PPL checkride scheduled with Bernie Consol soon. I’d appreciate hearing about your recent experiences—checkride style, areas of emphasis, professionalism, and any tips for preparation. Thanks in advance!

Bernie Consol is the man. Retired F15 pilot and T-38 trainer. He did my PPL recheck and was more than fair. He is easy going. I failed the oral my first go around so my recheck with him was only like 30 minutes, so I don’t have much info on that. But for the flight just be safe and make good decisions. Be smooth with your setups, he is definitely not out to get you. My soft field landing felt like a crater at the time (it wasn’t that bad) but I verbalized my disappointment after the landing and he didn’t seem too upset about it.
Good luck! Fly good don’t suck!
