Is okay at 18 to have a handgun in sc?

So I know it’s legal to open and conceal carry, but if I get the handgun at 18 in a private sale or as a gift, can I conceal carry in South Carolina?

All relevant laws here, BTW might be worth looking into getting your carry permit.

Just be cool with it.SC can be funny about stuff sometimes.

Look up and read the actual laws > asking strangers on Reddit.
Using "But people on Reddit said..." is never a good defense strategy in court.

I’ve looked up a bunch and it gets confusing on some parts

We have "constitutionsl carry." As long as you are 18, not a felon, and not subject to a protective order, you should be good to go. Double check this by searching the SC Code of Laws or ask anyone at a gun store.

Google says you're good.

That’s what I saw but I didn’t know for sure

Reference SC law. It's in there as well.
