I have thought about making my own PC and am wondering if its worth and or realistic. I'm brand new to this so any advice on what is compatible, what are good parts, and or reputable places to buy would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking spending 1000-1400 is that enough money to make it worth and what are the best part that work together could I get.

the most reliable way is i guess to go to microCenter or any other known PC shop and buy it on spot.
but newegg and amazon also decent. (of course there were bizarre stories that people got rocks, and of course porch stealing...)
worth to mentioned in amazon and newegg, there is A LOT of resellers that i would avoid ordering.
i make sure the parts i picked u not, but some parts that i picked the sellers is not amazon but its the manufacture of the part which is totally fine, the nvme, cooler, case

You can definitely build a respectable machine with that budget, $1,000-$1,400 is enough for a very capable gaming or general-purpose PC. That being said, now isn't the best time to build a PC, as strong AI-related demand has helped keep the prices of GPUs and RAM higher than many enthusiasts would like, along with other market factors affecting hardware pricing. So while your budget is absolutely sufficient for a good machine, you may not get quite as much performance for your money as builders did during some of the more favorable periods in recent years.
