SkyWest Advancement Agreement

Hey,
I'm in the process of applying as a FO at SkyWest and they tell me to sign the agreement/contract but the recruiter will not send it to me to read before signing. Now that is a huge red flag for me. Does anyone have the actual contract, so I can read before signing ? And .. is this even legal ?

You likely e-sign it. They probably don’t want any copies floating around the internet

If it makes you feel better, I signed the contract and I haven’t heard anything back for months. Hope this helps!

The agreement is 5 years or 1600 PIC. If you leave before then, you owe them a ton of money

It’s an e-sign. You open it, read it, sign it or don’t.

How can you sign something you don't have? Impossible that would hold up in court.

For every 1 person that realizes this and can afford to fight it in court there are thousands that can’t do either and sign. Skywest has existed like this for decades.

Huh? They send it, you read it, you sign or don’t.

I asked for the contract and they denied sending it. They did send me a link with a button "sign agreement", which I am afraid to press.

The contract will probably display once you click the link. That’s how most things needing signature are being sent these days. I’ve had apartment leases, mortgage applications, medical consent forms, etc., all sent that way. Click the link, the document pops up, you read and scroll then click to sign

I would think when you click that link it'll show you the agreement you're signing. And even if not, it's not like clicking the link is signing it. If it's an e-signature deal you'll probably have to type in (or draw) your signature - again probably after reading it.
And even if it did immediately "sign" the agreement, you could just not take a class date from them if they're being that shady.

if they won’t let you read it first, don’t sign anything and don’t be shy about walking away, super sketchy behavior even if it’s legal

Welcome to an airline without a union...
