required to leave, want to stay

i looked through many posts, and couldn’t find any that relate. is there anyone that had to leave a country but did not want to? how did you cope? i am required to leave SWITZERLAND. i have absolutely fallen in love with this country and built an amazing life here. i have a massive community and am a huge outdoors enthusiast and have culturally integrated very well and even learned the language. unfortunately after 400+ job applications, i still havent found a job and have to leave in 3 months… i almost regret coming here because i got a glimpse of what a “perfect” life with very low background stress levels looks like.
im already so heart broken and crying every day, mouring what my life could have been. on the other hand i feel ridiculous because all my friends have swiss or EU passports and no one i know has gone through this, hence why i am coming here to hear some stories. please be nice :) thanks in advance.

Marry one of your friends, regardless of their gender, get divorced when you have a job :)

I’m so sorry, that’s such an emotionally difficult situation to be in. But you’re still young so keep learning and continue to up-skill, with more work experience under your belt the odds of landing a role in Switzerland are much higher.
Good luck to you!

I had to leave China at 60. Life was quite comfortable and i would have preferred to stay a few more years.
C'est la vie.
As a result I had the chance to live in Central Asia, which was an amazing experience.
Don't look back, look ahead.

If you gotta leave, you gotta leave.
Don’t try to illegally stay, or else you risk being prevented from ever visiting again.

I’m also leaving Switzerland soon, my job here is ending and we are non EU/swiss so no chance of being sponsored for a job.
But it’s how life is, I already knew for a long time our chances of staying here long term were low so we didn’t expect anything. I’m happy I got to see this beautiful country and experience how the other half of the world lives. But a person can adjust to anything…try to think of the positives in your home country if that’s where you are returning to

You can continue applying to jobs in that country, even after you leave. If you’re not an attractive enough applicant now, focus your career to make yourself one.
I live in Japan in my 20s as a student, moved back in my 40s after getting a good job offer.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through that. At least you tried to make it work and gave it your all! And that’s great. Maybe you can return to Switzerland again one day once you’ve secured a job there. You can always continue applying for jobs in Switzerland from your home country.

You built a massive community in a tourist visa time frame?

had to leave germany after my visa ran out, same thing, great life there then nope. honestly it felt like a breakup. gave myself time to grieve, then planned visits back. doesnt fix it, but helps. also yeah 400+ apps and nothing is wild now, finding any job is just stupid hard lately
