Lost item on flight to Dallas

Probably a long shot… but about a month ago on a flight from Detroit to Dallas (final destination was Albuquerque) I lost a Nintendo switch inside of a black case on an American Airlines flight. Sat by the window in seat 26F of flight AA2045 on 05/07/26. The switch itself has both a green and gray joycon with several games in the case.
Serial number: XAW10035032204
Already submitted claims with DFW and American Airlines with no luck. If anyone happens to see it pop up somewhere or have any ideas it would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Doesnt help much but airtag on everything valuable. Wallet, keys, switch, etc.

I have AirTags in all our luggage, even the carry on bags and laptop backpacks.

Probably your best strategy is to start saving for a new one.
I once forgot a pair of Bose headphones in the seat back pocket. I realized it as I exited the ramp. Of course they wouldn’t let me back in the plane, nor would they radio inside or do anything to assist me other than tell me to call, which I did, from the counter while looking at the plane. I never saw those headphones again. I didn’t even get a call back from the airline.
When I was exiting a plane one time I saw a digital camera in a seat. To make sure what happened to me wouldn’t be repeated, I snagged it. I found a picture of a couple that were in several of the photos and posted here on Reddit and elsewhere. Through a lot of sharing they were found and had their camera back just a week(ish) after their flight.
So, based on my personal experience, unless you see it listed on Marketplace or something, it’s gone.

Yup you’re probably right unfortunately. It’s been almost a month at this point and minimal communication from any of the spots of submitted a claim or posted. Sucks knowing how much was lost in value both physically and sentimentally… appreciate the advice friend.

I left my Kindle Oasis on an AA flight back in early January and submitted the claim. It was crickets for four months and them I got a text and email. Don't give up hope just yet.

Fingers crossed the same happens in my case lol.

I figure if it’s made its way onto eBay or marketplace, on the off chance anyone has seen it, I’d check here 😅 Wishful thinking but you never know lol

Unless someone stole it, American should have it somewhere; the real question is where. Btw for future reference, my older brother has an AirTag attached to ALL of his kids' devices for this exact reason. (And they've left shit behind, on planes and elsewhere, over a dozen times since he started doing so.) I've done so with my own wallet and keys as well.
Also, how quickly afterwards did you report the Switch missing? (considering it happened nearly a month ago) And do you recall where you put it on the plane? Stuff found on planes usually goes into the airline's lost-and-found at the specific airport, but unless the case has your name on it, how would they have known it wasn't continuing to Albuquerque? If it was stuffed in a seatback pocket or wedged into the side of a seat, the airline might not have been discovered until they fully serviced the plane in ABQ.
Have you tried contacting American's office there? It may be where it ended up, and since they only retain items left behind for 30 days, I'd definitely suggest contacting them ASAP.

I’m really hoping it’s just going really slow in processing or in a corner waiting to be reviewed. I’m definitely going to be airtagging everything in the future because of this.
I submitted a claim immediately the next day once I noticed I had left it on the plane. I provided the exact details of the flight #, seat location, and where exactly in the seat (under the arm rest) that I left it. I’m about 90% certain it was a different plane because I had a short layover and different plane on the way back to Albuquerque. The flight into Dallas was around 9pm so that may have been that planes final flight for the day.
So far I’ve reached out to their office, DFW lost and found, ABQ lost and found and anywhere in between I can think of or get connected with.
