US Aviation Academy? Considering their Flight Program

Hey guys! I’m considering attending the US Aviation Academy in San Marcos for flight training, and want some different opinions and advice on if it’s a good school or if I should avoid them. I’ve seen some mixed opinions on people’s experiences there. Wanted to see if anyone had some recent experience or if there are any graduates or current students that could weigh in. Thanks in advance!

“Internet wisdom” says avoid places with “academy” in the name.

You might have a good point with that one

Can we ask why such a place is at the top of your list?
Everyone learns different, and many do much better at flight training operations that focus more on quality versus rapid training.

Main reason is speed and structure. I’ve got about 30 hours of training but that’s over the course of about 8 months since I work full time. I’d like to go into training full time and get my training finished a lot quicker. Other reason is the so called airline partnerships some of these schools offer, I don’t know how well they actually work though.

I've done their 141 program in Peachtree City as part of the USAF IPT. It really seemed like run of the mill 141 operation. I'd say 61 schools would more likely deliver better quality training but if you want to do it fast then sure.

All of these schools that turn out these 250 hour wonders are essentially all the same. Pick whatever works for you.
