I think it fair to call that Lamborghini Huracan a project because of its dramatic blue metallic colour

Thanks!

Brother pLEASE stop spam posting here to try and farm users for your vibe-coded project car app. We've seen dozens of these and they never get any traction because we'd rather just see a real project posted to the sub.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
PS, it is not a vibe coding. I've done it completely manually with a lot of trials and errors and still learning how to make it better. But as I promised - I won't talk about it here.
SueKam@reddit
You don’t need to explicitly talk about the app here to effectively engagement-farm in our subreddit. The fact that your account name is the name of your app gives the clear impression that you’re trying to drive clicks to the website you built. That impression is further substantiated by the fact that you’re exclusively posting car-related topics in car-related subreddits while giving people an easy-to-follow path back to the car-related, forum-like tool you built.
While yes, some posts you make might create actual valuable discussions and engagement on the sub, posts like this one (with the random ass lambo) talking about how it "must be a project car because of it's color" very clearly are NOT liked by our community, and it looks less like genuine participation and more like a transparent attempt to gain traction for your own personal project.
Your posts are popping up pretty reglarly in my mod-queue as "spam" and "self promotional", and while I've generally been manually approving the posts, it's harder to do that when the activity seems so artificial and "engagement farmy".
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
Okay, what is the problem then? You don't like my posts if they violating subReddit rules ,as a moderator - don't approve. You don't like them as a user - ignore! As simple as that! Don't understand why to write such lengthy comments about it.
SueKam@reddit
The problem is that repeated soft-promotion still affects the subreddit even when the app itself isn’t mentioned in every post. When your username is the app name, your profile points back to the app, and your activity is mostly car-sub engagement that creates a funnel back to that app, it starts looking promotional whether or not each individual post technically names the product.
As a moderator, I’m explaining why these posts are repeatedly being reported and why they’re getting harder to approve. “Just don’t approve them” is exactly where this is headed if the pattern continues. I’m giving you the chance to adjust before that becomes the default.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
What, to adjust the name of my profile? Do you have written rules about user names? I would happily read them to choose wisely... Don't afraid, there is no exodus to the app from your subReddit, not a single user came so far. Even some of my posts has more than 70k views. Would some people not be so aggressive here, we had a nice chat about rare cars mods here and not all this silly stuff. I bet other users might decide to leave, when seeing how aggressive some people are here and it is allowed officially. Sorry we couldn't have car-related conversation here. "America, land of free speech and democracy" they say, thanks.
SueKam@reddit
No, this is not about requiring you to change your username. It is about the overall pattern: an app-branded account repeatedly posting broad, low-effort car prompts in this subreddit while the profile points back to that app.
You were given a good-faith explanation because the posts are repeatedly being reported as spam/self-promotion. Arguing that no users have clicked through, or that some posts got a lot of views, does not change how the behavior presents to the community.
Going forward, please keep participation here centered on genuine project-car content, not engagement prompts tied to an app-branded account. If the pattern continues, we’ll treat it as self-promotion/spam (rule 3 of this sub) and remove it accordingly.
ShortbusRacingTeam@reddit
Dude… how many ways does this guy have to tell you to “get bent” before you ban him?
He’s obviously not getting the point.
SueKam@reddit
I'm equal parts stubborn and patient. That said I've got about 5 more in me before I move on with my day.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
I only can agree on one thing - I post, moderators to decide, whether it is violation or not. Deleted - so it be.
And they are not "low effort" posts - yesterday, I spent all day in the field, trying to make decent photos of interesting and rare cars, so I have sunburns all over my face and legs hurt due to hundreds of squats to make better angles for photos and avoid public appearance in the pictures. And at least an hour to edit photos/delete number plates etc.
SueKam@reddit
This isn’t r/interestingcars or r/rarecars; it’s r/projectcar. A car being rare, unusual, or interesting does not automatically make it relevant here.
We’re having this discussion because I want you to have the opportunity to keep posting and engaging in this community, but you need to do so in a way that’s consistent with the community rules and the actual intent of the sub.
That means posts should be clearly tied to an actual project vehicle, a potential project, or a specific project-related issue, not just general car-spotting or broad engagement prompts.
Things like your Suzuki Celerio that you’ve modified with interior/exterior trim pieces and added functionality are the kind of content this sub is for. Photos of someone else’s Lamborghini that you took at a local car show are not.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
I'm not going to talk about my app here. Who wants - can find it easily. I like what conversation happened in "Porsche as a project" post and we were able to see so awesome cars which were hidden in the community - probably people were cautious of posting it in anticipation some sort of negative reaction.
FloridaMan_Inc@reddit
It's literally the name of your account. Don't pretend you're not using posts like this to try to promote it. You certainly aren't engaging with the community the way you're supposed to in here.
If you're gonna make posts then post an actual project car that you're actually working on or shut up.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
Thank you for your opinion and gentle attitude. Apart from screaming swearing words - please refer me to the moderators, let them to decide. Have a nice day, again.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
Anyway, who can share any experience in running expensive (or once were expensive) and fast cars as a project except Porsche (we had another topic dedicated to that make)
FloridaMan_Inc@reddit
How does that make sense? How does a car being a specific color make it a project car? This is some of the weakest spam I've ever seen. A random picture of some random person's Lambo is not what this subreddit is for.
Quit using low effort shitposts to promote your shitty app and at least pretend to have a little respect for the communities you're trying to farm for engagement.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
I think photos are alright, not professional but represents the car quite good. Let's then talk about definition of the "project car" - should it be only something outstanding like complete rebuild? Or something custome to be built from the scratch? I think such approach would exclude thousands of other car-passionate people who don't have resources or time or money to run that scale of projects!
Again, I don't see any usefulness in including a lot of words starting with "s" - you just discourage other people of posting here. What you might not like next?
Otherwise - submit an official complaint to respectful moderators, and let them to decide. Thank you, have a nice day.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
I'm not a spam or bot or anything. This is a real Lamborghini Huracan in a custom colour, I've seen yesterday on event in Stanstad Park in Hampshire UK. Just wondering what is your opinion on such approach to the project. I think, personally, it is better that way than to buy so expensive car and just drive it in stock.
ShortbusRacingTeam@reddit
If it’s not about your personal project car, we don’t want to hear about it.
This is 100% marketing and engagement farming. I’m surprised the mods haven’t banned you tbh.
MyMotorStory_app@reddit (OP)
I'm not "farming anyone" I do prefer human attitude to people around me, sorry. That I was not banned yet, could just mean that your opinion is just yours, sorry for that.

If this isn't a bot I don't know what is.
