If you were to carry one of these in this style holster what would you choose?

Springfield 1911 ronin emp 3
Walther PPK
Beretta 92FS

These options all suck ass for belly band. They’re steel slide/steel frame which = heavy relative to size. I know for whatever reason you don’t want a Glock, but really any polymer pistol is going to be better suited for this carry format.
Look up weights of these guns vs the same size polymer gun and you’ll see what I mean.

Only a .78lb difference between a ronin emp3 and a Glock 43 it’s not that I don’t want a Glock I’m just not a fan of carrying a gun that doesn’t have a manual safety
Hettyc_Tracyn@reddit
Don’t use a bellyband… it’ll shift around and if you need to draw your firearm it’ll pull with it
Xynphos@reddit
Glock 43x/48, Shield plus, or a p365. Full metal guns are a bitch to carry already and with a sub-par belly band they’ll sag.
FullmetalTaco23@reddit
I have this holster; I normally use this with either my G17 or my P226. I use this holster whenever I wear shorts or pants that do not have belt loops. It came in clutch for my wedding day, but you HAVE to make it TIGHT; tighter than a nun in a convent, around your waist. You will still print a bit due to the lack of claw, but ill hold.
Also, itll be a bit sweaty lol

Ronin EMP 3" is the gun I want to purchase one day, when I have the money. I buy all budget stuff that works, haven't ever spoiled myself with anything "really nice". The CSX-E would be what I'd probably actually buy just because of the cost. The Ronin is a beautiful looking gun though.
Impossible_Big8359@reddit (OP)
If you have any kind of store you can get gift cards at what I plan on doing is buying gift cards and saving them until I have enough to purchase the gun I want and if they don’t have it they can order it
fuckfeardrinkbeer@reddit
Walther PPK. You can put it in your pocket. The rest are all too heavy.
Impossible_Big8359@reddit (OP)
PPK and the 1911 are about the same weight but they are too heavy for my pocket because I don’t wear jeans or cargos I wear basketball shorts and sweats and besides being too heavy, they would fall out too easily and I don’t want that

Android.

I've carried a Bersa 380 in a belly band like this without too much trouble, and it's essentially the same footprint as the PPK. I've got a bit of a gut but nothing crazy. I actually found my problem was that it rode too high unless I was careful about positioning the band when I first put it on.
Perfect-Dimension356@reddit
All of these are too heavy for a belly band. Get a Phlster Enigma with the sports band instead, it'll be more comfortable, more secure, and easier to draw, even if you carry it high light that.
As to the gun specifically, the answer is the 92FS compact.
Impossible_Big8359@reddit (OP)
I would get one later but right now I’m in the middle of moving out so this belly band is just what I can afford. I don’t have to switch guns if I get the enigma later on
Perfect-Dimension356@reddit
Do you already own a belly band and are looking to get a new gun? Do you already own these guns and are looking to buy a belly band? Do you already own all three of these pistols and the belly band? That would be determinant on what the most reasonable course of action is.
Impossible_Big8359@reddit (OP)
Own a belly band looking to get a new slightly lighter gun later I prefer hand guns to have a little weight to then do not own any of these guns but do like all of them especially the 1911 and beretta because those are my 2 favorite handguns
Perfect-Dimension356@reddit
I'd aim for a polymer frame handgun in a belly band, honestly. They're help up strictly by elastic tension, so any of these are likely to cause it to sag and shift around.
Beretta Px4 compact or H&K P30sk, maybe?

Is the phone there to record your self defense shootings?

This is just a random picture. I wouldn’t actually put the phone there I’d probably put a knife or something

Is this a joke? A belly band? Are you f serious? All these carry guns are corny af too. A steel frame beretta? Heavy and bulky? A steel frame Walter? The 1911 as a carry gun is so 1980s. Bro get with the times. Get a S&W Shield 2.0 or a Hellcat. Canik Mate or literally any other polymer frame gun that isn't 80 years old. Holy shit. I know a geezer wrote this.
Impossible_Big8359@reddit (OP)
23 and nothing wrong with a 1911 as a carry it’s what I have now
GOOLGRL@reddit
If there's no kydex or other hard material over the trigger guard, I'm not wearing it. Straight up.
AngriestManinWestTX@reddit
I'm not a fan of belly bands in general but I want to jump in here and say that the Walther PPK or PPK/s is a fucking awful gun. Not an awful carry gun, just an awful gun period in the year of our lord 2026. There is absolutely no reason to buy a PPK for anything other than James Bond larping and that will grow old after a few trips to the range and then you'll realize the PPK sucks.
PPKs have dubious reliability (maybe they've improved), are low capacity (6+1), have terrible sights (they truly suck and aftermarket isn't stellar), the double action trigger is stupdily heavy (every one of them I've handled has been at least 14 pounds), the ergonomics suck (unless you have tiny hands, I guess), and given it is a blowback operated, compact .380 ACP, the recoil will be surprisingly sharp. Slide bite is common with the .380 variety in particular but is less common in the .32 ACP chambering but I don't even know if Walther is making new PPKs in .32 as of now. Talking about weight, they weigh more a S&W Bodyguard 2.0 does and that 2.0 carries twice as much ammo. And it's relatively expensive at $700+.
There is simply no reason to buy a PPK for daily carry in 2026. If you want it for collection purposes, that's fine, but for anything self-defense related, I don't see the point of them. If one is gifted to you and it's all you've got, it's better than fisticuffs until you get something better but only until then.
Of the guns listed, I'd grab a Beretta 92 compact and carry it IWB with a sturdy carry belt.
Otherwise, I'd opt for something lighter.
Impossible_Big8359@reddit (OP)
Any of these would be lighter than my carry now but right now I carry a 1911 with a 10 round mag
AngriestManinWestTX@reddit
If that's the case I'd just get a different handgun if possible.
Given your preference for thumb safeties, I'd recommend exploring S&W in particular. They've got the Bodyguard 2.0, the Shield, the Shield Plus, and the Shield EZ that all have thumb safety options. The Springfield Echelon does too.
GaybutNotbutGay@reddit
Try the philster enigma, it's a similar concept just better. Lot more expensive though
Hold_Left_Edge@reddit
Glock 43x/48.
This used to be a running rig for me. Worked great.
Impossible_Big8359@reddit (OP)
I don’t do glocks for carry I only do it if it has a manual safety

What happens when you need to take a phone call? Not so concealed anymore.
Unlike the dude with the 6 pack abs in the picture, if you have a gut, you’re shit outta luck. Thats, like, most Americans.

Wouldn’t be keeping my phone in jt

Ppk in a shoulder rig like James Bond
Deckard_Pain@reddit
D)Sig 938
PPK would be the closest. I EDC'd a full size 1911 for 3 years. Once I got my sig, I only carry full size for fun now.
Moist-Visit6969@reddit
lol to the weight comments. I carry a full sized beretta px4 in one of these.
DashMcGee@reddit
I love 1911s, but for this rig I would take the Walther simply because it is smaller and has more rounded edges.
PuzzleheadedRegion87@reddit
I’m not carrying in a belly band. I’d rather put a money clip on a pistol and stick it in my pants.
DeFiClark@reddit
None.
Not suitable holster for the weight of any of these , and on top none are polymer so you are essentially putting steel in a vapor permeable holster next to skin so even if they werent too heavy, you’d get rust.
Find a different holster and carry the Ronin if you can get comfortable with the manual of arms of an SA pistol.
The 92 is not easily concealed and I’ve never encountered a PPK that was reliable enough to consider as a primary CCW.
Gr144@reddit
I would say, if you want a compact pistol with a hammer, get s&w csx. or a snub noise revolver
marvinfuture@reddit
Absolutely not the PPK. it's not a reliable CCW from my experience shooting it. At least compared to better options

PPK/S
bfwead@reddit
Agree with the weights comments, but if these are the 3 in your safe, have to choose the PPK
Texas_Potato@reddit
All of those are way too heavy to practically carry in a belly band. Either a lightweight snub nose or a LCP Max or something
thighhighsgg@reddit
i say the Beretta is too big for me for that style of holster i think i'd go for the Springfield
East_Bug7312@reddit
None of them, they are all heavy and will constantly pull that belly band down
