I'm compiling an automotive bucket list. What would you add to this list?

Honestly route 1 in Iceland isn't really a good driving road. It's more of a means to see the scenery. I drove around the entire country of Iceland in a Suzuki Jimny last year, but the highest speed limit was 90 kmph. It's not like hitting the canyons around LA or something. Route 1 is more for getting from waterfall to waterfall to glacier to canyon etc

CA Hwy 1 is so awesome in late spring or fall. Rubicon is rad too. I had more fun walking it and spectating than riding shotgun. I don't have the funds to drive it.

Get a blowie while driving

While your crossing off the Japan items, I would add rent a drift car at Ebisu or attend a Ebisu matsuri.
newtonreddits@reddit (OP)
That's a good one.
hamrmech@reddit
Silver state classic. I just want to see the cars.
Mysterieo@reddit
If you’re already in Germany for Porsche and Audi, the VW autostadt is definitely worth a visit. If you’re familiar with Disney’s Epcot, it’s like a smaller version of that but for cars. The biggest surprise was the museum there. MUCH more than just the VAG. They had automotive history from all manufacturers there and it was an absolute treat to see. Would love to visit again someday.

One of my car goals is to hit 200 MPH.
SufferInS1lence@reddit
Trophy truck events like the Baja 400/500/1000 are worthy trips for a bucket list.
Devious_Bastard@reddit
Attend Indy 500. It’s an experience like no other when 450k people are cheering during the last lap. The history and pageantry cannot be replicated on TV.
newtonreddits@reddit (OP)
Added!

Go to the infield with a Walmart chair and a 30 of beer in a cooler and tailgate with your pals while a race happens to occur around you every 60 seconds or so

newtonreddits@reddit (OP)
Done that. Would not put it on my bucket list lol.
methodactyl@reddit
Nothing to add just reinforcing that Goodwood was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done as a car enthusiast. I don’t normally take a ton of pictures but I’ve had my phone for 6 years and I can comfortably say at least 10% of my photos are from my one day at FOS. Absolute blast.
GravyNeck@reddit

newtonreddits@reddit (OP)
Give me some specific events!
MotoMD@reddit
Drive PCH
maxlax02@reddit
Automotive bucket list should not be limited to automobiles with 4 wheels.
It should also not only be limited to roads and race tracks.
For example - You got drive a Porsche in Stuttgart but where is “Drive a Jeep through Moab”?
Or “ride a motorcycle up pacific coast highway”.
newtonreddits@reddit (OP)
I actually was going to add the Rubicon trail and forgot. And I'm very Euro car biased.
R_V_Z@reddit
Attend Pike's Peak?
newtonreddits@reddit (OP)
Oh that's a great one.

Driving some/all of these in your own car. It's one thing to hop in a car that you just became acquainted with that same day and an entirely different thing to be in your own ride that you know. I think it adds to the experience tremendously.
Source: US delivered car that I shipped back to Germany and drove The Ring and Spa.
Aside from driving your own car.. maybe add driving the Amalfi coast. Did that a month ago and it was definitely worth the effort. Also add driving US Highway-1.
PlatinumElement@reddit
Pretty much everything would be made better by driving a car that you love and is yours. Several things on this list I really want to do with one of my own cars, it’s just the logistics and shipping costs would be insane, not to mention finding the time to do it.
NetworkStatic@reddit
Your car listing sure looks like someone who truly loves cars and driving. Kudos.
It's a fair point about the time, logistics, and cost.. that's what makes these highlights life goals. It's an epic commitment to make it happen. I spent years trying to get a job in Germany just so I could do it. I moved my whole life over there so that I could.. then when it was done and time to come back, years later, I moved everything, including the car back to the states.
I guess what I am saying is "there's levels to this shit". Not in an offhanded way, just for real car enthusiasm.. it can be casual or extra serious. However committed a person is. It's a bucket list after all.

Add visiting the Simeone museum as well.

Same for Brooklands and a chance to walk on and touch what's left of the Brooklands banked circuit.
Goodwood festival of speed is also worth adding.

Indy 500 and Daytona 500

I'd add in the 24 Hours Of Daytona as well as those two. For a more fun challenge, attend the 24, but also don't leave till it's done.
