What is your home wifi, do you like it?

I used to run my Synlogy wireless router off my ISP router but now just use my Fios wifi router provided by Verizon. I'm interested in getting better wifi coverage but have no idea what residental networking equipment is good and don't feel like bringing work home with me with Aruba/Cisco/Unify
What are you using?
Do you like it?

Netgear nighthawk, cuz I’m not bringing work home with me.

2x TP-Link Deco XE75 one on the mail floor, another on the second floor, connected via a 6Ghz backhaul.

My synology nas is running my omada network controller in a container, i have a few tp-link poe ap's controlled by it, works perfect, low maitanence and easy to scale/add more ap's, seemless connection handover, guest wifi that cant reach internal devices... im very pleased
someguy7710@reddit
I have a tp-link ap for my upstairs and just the Verizon router for the middle level. My basement has an old ruckus unleashed ap that works well enough
fp4@reddit
TP-Link is good value.
My single EAP670 sufficiently covers my 1000 sq ft bi-level. It replaced a AC Pro and AC Lite.
Does 1200 Mbps down on 5 GHz with line of sight.
chiperino1@reddit
I have an eap670 and a 615 in wall for a spot that was kinda weak. May get one more in wall for another weak area.
With power settings properly configured, I have no issues, and it works great. Also, wifi channels manually set.
I automatically reboot the whole system once a month, and it's been seamless.

I have a TPLink EAP670 for an AP and ER605 VLAN and VPN router. AP is hosting 5 SSID and the router has 5 VLANs that I run for the following:
ISPNetwork, taken over my ISP router duties (2 SSIDs for 2.4 and 5GHz)
LAB VLAN for playing with thing
WFH (Work from home) peer isolated, setup like a guest network, to put my work computer on its own inaccessible to or from other lans
Admin SSID for access to my router and ap admin gui.
I like my setup because I can WFH and play in my Lab without fear of effecting other things. I am probably overkill but in testing I am getting 960 of my 1Bbps network. Traffic isolation if I want to pxe boot devices. Like I said, it is overkill, but i'd rather overengineer it than have a bottleneck.

2 unifi outdoor LR APs. 1 inside AP (different brand).
Network is an Aruba 24 port switch with POE and Unifi Dream Machine.

I used my ISP cable modem with wifi currently. Prior I had my own cable modem and 3 unit mesh system. I prefer to keep it simple.
At my lake place, I use my ISP cable modem, an old tp link router and I have an outdoor wavlink unit plus my middle daughter and son in law have I think the ac600 wavlink in their lake place that is close to ours. We get excellent coverage.

Is r/homelab leaking?

Been sing my Omada EAP225 for 6-7 years. Most of it standalone, but got a controller for it now that I have some Omada switches too. I'm happy with the switches but I don't love the access point. Been meaning to upgrade to an EAP650 or EAP720 for a while, but never prioritized it.
Also tempted to get some Fortinet NFR equipment, the equipment is cheap then, and I can get licenses for free if I ask our TAM nicely. But I don't want to be stuck paying for Forticare out of pocket if I ever change jobs later.
Omada is nice enough for home, and requires very little attention.
joedotdog@reddit
Was UI, now Omada. I like the latter's prices way better, and for home, it meets my needs well.

Alta Labs. Previously Unifi.

TP-Link Deco Mesh system. It's dead easy to set up with the app.
I totally get not wanting to bring work home with you. I refuse to spend more than 5 minutes messing with anything that's even remotely similar to what I do at work everyday. VLANs, pfSense, TrueNAS, Docker and all that other bullshit won't ever get inside my front door.

I feel seen ;)

Whatever's built into my AT&T Fiber router. It works, mostly. It's all I care to fiddle with off the clock.
bitslammer@reddit
2 Unify APs. They both trunk back to my pfSense firewall and have 4 VLANs on each to keep things separated.
pmormr@reddit
Yeah any concerns about Ubiquiti gear completely evaporate in the home. If the alternative is something from the shelf at Best buy, it gives you the best result by a very significant margin. It's just not fully turn key so it's a bad fit for the average Joe, but if you're asking this question you'll be fine.
bitslammer@reddit
If they added local/web management they'd be damn near perfect. I hate needing to run the Unify app just to manage a couple of APs.
Jaaames_Baxterrr@reddit
That's my setup as well. It's done well for me.

Ubiquity. It’s trash Lol
Jaki_Shell@reddit
why?
sdeptnoob1@reddit
I use a gl inet wifi6/2.5gb router and Motorola2.5gb cable modem. Works great. Fast.
dude_named_will@reddit
I am using the built-in WiFi in my router provided by my ISP. It's been working fine, but I also am a stickler to run cable to stationary devices, so typically only phones and a few smart devices are on it.

Mikrotik wireless at my house. I set it up and don't think I've touched it since. Fortinet everything else.
Wanted my dad to be able to adjust things if he wanted, so did Ubiquity at his house. I regret that decision, I've wasted so much time on it. From AP's dropping out and never connecting, the awful 5GHz only meshing that makes absolutely zero sense. I hate it. Anyone who thinks that meshing should be 5GHz only should be locked up. The whole point is to extend range in your home, how are you supposed to do that on a band that can't penetrate walls or windows.
Because of that I did Mikrotik at my sisters. Again, I haven't touched it since I set it up.

My place is small enough that one little ap of any variety will do the trick, so long as it's not in the distribution cabinet which a metal enclosure with a plastic door... that's in a closet...
Currently my home network is a UCG max to a U6-IW in my living room

ROG Wifi 7 router, it's way more than anyone needs but i'll be darned if I can't download my whole steam library in an hour

BGW-320 in IP Pass-through to a Nighthawk Mesh Wifi 6 router and 3 satellites. Satellites are int the attic (got foam insulation so its nice and cool up there) got full coverage throughout the house. Router/HUB is in my network closet in my office in case I need to re-sunc satellites (happens more often than id like... thanks ONCOR)

3x Unifi WiFi6 LR AP's. My router is a Ubiquity ER-4 Lite and I have a Netgear GS series 24 port Gig switch. I had to replace the power brick a couple of years ago for the router, but it still works great.
I also have a 16TB TrueNAS box setup for Plex.

Ruckus R710 in garage side window covering back yard and that side of the house--- haven't picked up an outdoor rated unit yet.
Another R710 in hallway closet near main living room.
Iperf3 runs \~300-450mbit anywhere I walk. The first bedroom and living room coverage, I can have 3 350mbit streams going at the same time plus one in the back yard, but only have 1 gig run to the garage R710 , would need a second to be able to feed much more at that end of the house.
ITguydoingITthings@reddit
A single Ubiquiti U6 LR, and a U6 Extender (rather than doing cable run in rental...) down the hallway near bedrooms. Works fine.
Lower_Bar5210@reddit
ubiquiti everything, its fine

Cisco 1815i access points, still, with mobility express as the controller. They're fine for home use, but only support Wifi 5/802.11ac. I'm thinking of upgrading to Ruckus and either Wifi 6e or 7 this year. Cisco's licensing model changed and (as far as I can tell) requires a subscription service now, which I won't do (they used to make security patches available for free).
I've tried normal consumer-grade wireless stuff, but it never worked for me in a crowded apartment complex. I've done Cisco since the mid-2010s and Proxim before that.

Netgear nighthawk setup. It's my 2nd nighthawk setup. This one is mesh with 2 satellites to cover all 3 stories.
