I’m sure there’s a Camry or Corolla they can rebadge as a replacement. That’s Lexus’s entire MO now.
sqparadox@reddit
It didn't used to be. The only Toyota versions of IS, GS, and LS were JDM.
KingMario05@reddit
Okay.
Affordable EV sedans next, please.
Come on, Toyota. You can do it...
trail-g62Bim@reddit
Not sure this would have done well. Definitely looks like the sedan version of the cybertruck.
KingMario05@reddit
Honestly, looking at it, yeah. Too pricey, too weird. All the electric Lexus sedan needs to be a nicer version of the inevitable electric Camry. Keep it simple and affordable.
R_V_Z@reddit
It looks like a new Prius that failed to render properly.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
The IS will continue to use its old platform in more years… Anyway, Lexus doesn’t care sedan market anymore.
w0nderbrad@reddit
breaking news: sedans are not making a comeback. ever.
RiftHunter4@reddit
Sedans don't make much sense outside of enthusiast and budget markets these days. Even stuff like the S-Class isn't as popular as it once was.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
S-Class is still best selling limo sedan though.
I do agree we would see large sedan gone in new car market, as SUV has taken their characters. However, I don’t think SUV would take out small sedan because small sedans usually have advantage in price and sporty.
Repulsive-Club7866@reddit
Only affordable ones
flatpetey@reddit
Toyota ignoring the EV market more? Who knew?
After betting on hydrogen, a fool's bet, I really wonder what these companies are thinking as they hand the world over to the Chinese on a silver platter.
Oh_ffs_seriously@reddit
It doesn't, the SUV is still in development.
WhippersnapperUT99@reddit
Looks like a Lexus version of a Cybertruck. Not a fan.
OofItsSpencer@reddit
The Nikkei article this information originally came from indicates Toyota is still developing next-generation EVs, and the tech is going to more profitable SUVs.
narwhal_breeder@reddit
Wouldn't surprise me if the EV LFA gets axed as well.
Hopefully nobody crashes the GR GT so they cancel the whole program like they did with the GR Super Sport.
bwoah_gimmethedrink@reddit
Incredibly overstyled and ugly - not a huge loss.
strongmanass@reddit
No shit. Frosty stood a better chance in hell than this thing did of coming to market.
Add another one to Toyota's claims of SSBs definitely coming tomorrow, seriously, promise.
Sensitive-Tackle5813@reddit
ffs
Phosphorus444@reddit
I think that one got canceled too.
SHHHeng@reddit
😂
Lol
