Well you see, almost immediately after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, there arose a conflict about who should succeed him. These faction eventually became the Shia and Sunni faiths, which are the dominant strains of Islamic in the Middle-east. As the largest Shia nation, Iran funds Islamic terrorists proxies throughout the Middle-east; Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Jordan, Houthis in Yemen, various death squads in Iraq, and this is massively destabilizing to that part of the world. To be fair, the Shia minority in many of these countries has a legitimate fear of being genocided by the majority Sunnis which lends popular support to these groups. Many of these proxies threaten also Saudi Arabia and Israel who are considered US allies. Fun fact, the US stationing female soldiers in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm was one of the justifications Osama Bin Laden used for the 9/11 attacks. These days the US role in Saudi Arabia is mostly missile defense from Iran proxies. Israel especially is threatened by Iran, who frequently articulates a desire to wipe Israel off the map and in turn Israel has strongly encouraged US actions that weaken Iran. Supposedly it was Benjamin Netanyahu who encouraged the Bush administration to launch a ground invade of Iraq, after years of sanctions and non-fly zones, with the purpose of destroying Iraq's nuclear weapons program. With Iraq now too much of a dysfunctional democracy to pose much threat to Israel or Kuwait these days, Iran remains the second biggest threat to the survival of Israel after Israel's own parasitic and rapidly growing Ultra-Orthodox jew population that pays no taxes, preforms no military service, and largely subsists on welfare. Iran has been known to be working on obtaining a nuclear bomb for years. Some say the 2015 Nuclear Disarmament Accord worked out by the Obama administration would have solved this problem, but it did leave the Iran proxies problem unsolved. It was all a mute point anyway when Trump ripped up the accord and reinstated the crippling sanctions on Iran. Intelligence sources claim Iran has come within a few months of being able to build a nuclear bomb. There are also rumors that Rubio, as the secretary of state is pushing aggressive foreign action for his upcoming presidential run, and the relative easy regimen change in Venezuela mislead the administration into thinking Iran's leadership could similarly be quickly decapitated and replaced. However, the DOD was caught off guard by Iran advanced and cheap drone technology, which the Trump administration has largely neglected in favor of more conventional military hardware like tanks. This whole thing could be easily resolved if Israel would just hurry up and build the third temple and then hopefully Jesus will return to earth and put us all out of our misery. You might want to run this post through ChatGPT, I'm mostly just repeating what I've read and I'm sure I got at least a few facts wrong.
As people who live in his country, we really think that it been his one of the most stupid and shameful fails to global audience, and he sounded like a deranged lunatic to us
Literally all he had to do is say "We're big and strong so we can do what we want" and then sprinkle in some stuff about trying to save Christians. That's the message Tucker's audience was looking for
Hahaha naaah he never gonna say it, only how we need unite before impact of "dirty west", probably "gay beam" or something, how big and strong our country with best(not really) military power in the world, stutter somewhere and say something stupid about of reality stuff
But he never ever gonna say anything about saving christians, because there is a lot of muslims living in our country and chechens/dagestani man not gonna take it lightly, especially their elites that kill a lot of people on the globe who cross them
That's another funny thing, the Americans who see Putin as a Christian savior have no idea that Russia has the largest domestic Muslim population in Europe. I'm not sure they'd handle that super well
I think to drive stock prices up and down so elites can suck up all the available capital regular people made from high interest savings and covid stimulus.
Typical reddit response. There's always some conspiracy against the "elites".
Maybe because Iran is a dump that's being propped up by Russia and China. Both are enemies of the USA. We can bomb Iran by proxy, risk little for it, and display power to our enemies without risk of retaliation. This isn't a call made by Trump. It doesn't matter who the president would be right now. They would've pushed for this move no matter what.
Israel has been begging America to bomb Iran for decades, trump is the only one who fell for it. Claiming this would happen under any president is dumb af lmao trump is a gullible loser who will do whatever Israel wants because he is easily manipulated.
Manipulated is a strange term to use here when they honeypotted him with Epstein and have all the dirt they need on him to have him do whatever they want.
US has been putting the squeeze on Chinese oil sources. The fact that Iran was also building a sophisticated conventional missile and drone umbrella to use as leverage against attacks against their genocidal terror proxies and their nuclear program is just a very, very close secondary objective. On top of this we're getting a ton of data and process improvements on our use of AI in real combat scenarios. Tertiary benefits of removing one of Russia's main drone suppliers for use against Ukraine.
Don't forget about draining all our munitions stockpiles so the line will keep going up on share prices for arms manufacturers. If those reserves got too big, people might start asking questions about whether or not we even need to keep mass producing so many missiles, interceptors, and bombs. As long as Uncle Sam's armories are running low, defense sector investments can maintain steady growth.
This grade school tier class warfare shit reddit dwells in is so tiresome. The war is happening for a bunch of reasons - Iran has been actively and surreptitiously attempting to build nuclear weapons for decades now and that's really bad for the region. When they could no longer deny what they were doing, they used it as a bargaining chip to gain concessions, which cannot be tolerated either.
Separate to this, Iran has been stirring shit in the region with its numerous proxies for ages now, the attacks on Israel earlier were really the straw that broke the camel's back there, and Israel decided it was going to sort Iran out... and American has reason to want to help out with that. The Houthis waging a decade of war with another American ally in the region was also a bit of an incentive too.
Then there's the whole thing with Iran aiding Russia with its war - there was the real risk that if Russia could come out of its war at least not completely crushed, they would repay Iran for its support considerably, and Iran would be greatly strengthened economically, militarily, and probably politically. This is again, bad for the region and for the west's interests.
Beyond this, Trump is wildly impulsive, loves a bit of drama, distraction, and spectacle and high on the success the US had with Venezuela, he did what he does, didn't think it through, and obviously it didn't go quite as he wanted, so he intends to just keep holding onto Iran's tail until he can figure out a better strategy. In the meantime he can use the whole situation as an axe to grind about some of his pet peeves, namely NATO, and European leadership.
And the US military is almost certainly using the conflict as a platform to soft test the F35, and their capability to manage in this new era of drone warfare, presuming fairly correctly that it's better to test for real in a relatively low risk environment than to have to test on the fly during a conflict with China later. This will be used to sell more expensive weapons to allies.
