Compromise with the flat earthers by agreeing that the earth is a hemisphere. Shift the argument to which side of the hemisphere we live on.

I've actually come up with a "sombrero" model of Earth that, combined with the celestial sphere, almost works. The trick is we live on the hemisphere where almost all of the Earth's land is (the antipode of Hawaii)
secretprocess@reddit
I don't get it but I'm gonna go with it cause sombreros are cool.
NearABE@reddit
The sombrero is a type of space habitat megastructure. The mass under the deck creates gravity so at the hub (sombrero’s crown) this is like the pole of a normal object. The sombrero’s deck rotates. Centripetal force is much greater than the gravity force at the brim. All points on the sombrero’s deck have a flat surface.
It is quite unlikely that anyone will ever build a sombrero Earth.

Technically a curve is simply seen as flat if rounding the arc curve
If you take a sphere and overly simplify it, it is 6 sides curved flat plate, almost like a cube
Divide that up into smaller plates and it becomes more and more flat plates
A 100 sided dice get closer to a spherical smoothness than a 6 sided die and a 20 sided die

Kansas is tilted slightly because water flows toward the Mississippi.
TheGameMastre@reddit
No, no, no. The Earth is unmistakably round.
The moon is flat.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_concentration_(astronomy)
Wikipedia says that the largest lunar mascons could make a plumb bob tilt a third of a degree off.
The GRACE-FO satellites https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GRACE_and_GRACE-FO are measuring Earth’s gravity. The scale bar on NASA’s map maxes out at 50 miliGalileo which is not very much. With 1/6th the gravity and mascons 6 times the field strength the moon is much less flat.
MAClaymore@reddit
It's yellow and shaped like a "C", duh
secretprocess@reddit
Unless you're on the moon, then it's the other way around. Er, the other way aflat.
Kiro0613@reddit
Upvoted just because of the "aflat" pun
Xiaxs@reddit
"You still think the moon is real? Haha." Is my go-to for moon landing conspiracy theories so I can't use this one :(
octopus4488@reddit
You believe the Moon is real??? LOL

Obviously, where else would we get our cheese? Cows?

A hemisphere has an edge. Wire me your investment money. I will go investigate set up a tour destination.

Technically the earth is a Möbius strip.
Big_Z_Beeblebrox@reddit
Do we live on the convex or concave side?
chattytrout@reddit (OP)
There is no concave side. Only the round side and the flat side.
Big_Z_Beeblebrox@reddit
Oh come on, everyone knows the Earth is hollow
Sufficient_Language7@reddit
It can be round on one side, flat on the other and the inside that half sphere can be empty.
Oberic@reddit
They want Earth to be a flat disc with a dome lid because that lines up with the false reality the Bible portrays.
Elfere@reddit
Never understood why flaters don't just go to the equator. Take about 100 steps south and plant a stick. Then travel 200 steps north and plant another stick. Wait till noon. Look at shadows (or the lack of one at the equator!)
While they're there they should flush a toilet 3 times. One north, one south and one in the middle. You only need like 10 steps to show the effect (whose name eludes me)
Ouu
secretprocess@reddit
It's called the Coriolis effect and it isn't really observable in a toilet cause the shape of the toilet itself has a much bigger influence on it.
ShavenYak42@reddit
Toilets aren’t big enough for the Coriolis effect to actually make any difference. You’d need at least swimming pool sized tanks of water and for them to be absolutely still before you pulled the drain plugs.
3p1taph@reddit
Maybe a dodecahedron?
Cerulean_IsFancyBlue@reddit
The Earth is a lot closer to flat in terms of space time.
CMDRumbrellacorp@reddit
Observable reality offers no tangible benefit to either side winning this argument. Something tells me that inconvenient fact won't deter anyone their righteous fury in this sub. Keep at it, all very entertaining to me.
Questo417@reddit
That’s called “greater earth theory”
