Mouser Electronics - has anybody here bought from them?

I'm thinking about purchasing some electronics and pc parts from [www.mouser.co.uk](http://www.mouser.co.uk) (about £1k total). I've never used the site before but I think stock will ship from the US. Has anyone here used them?, what kind of delivery times would I be looking at and are there any extra import duty costs (the site seems to say import duty is covered by mouser - is that true in reality?) Thanks

Have bought from them more than several times. No issues, fast delivery. Currently have a roll of 100 NPN transistors on back order for 9 months. I wouldnt have them as main supplier,but to have them as a last resort.

Not heard of them. If it’s a large value order I would personally stick to more familiar vendors like Scan.

Yeah they're an important electronic component wholesalersl, alongside Digikey. Absolutely huge company but not where I'd source pc parts!

Electronics engineer here. Yes they are reliable and one of the biggest parts suppliers in the world. We use them for parts at work no issue, I use them for personal projects, no issue

No need. The UK has a lot of excellent electronic and pc parts suppliers. Whatever it is that you want to buy is already here in the UK without getting caught up in Donald's tarrifs or customs charges. The postage won't be cheap either.

Yup, fine. They’ll cover the import if necessary (it’s already bundled into the price). They know what they’re doing, it’s a huge company. Weird place to buy computer parts though.

wouldnt recommend buying your pc parts from an american seller, any warranty or RMA issue would mean sending it back to america and having all that import tax headache

I used them a lot when I was living in the US. To be honest, I wouldn't consider them for PC parts. They're a bit more "I'm designing electronics" kind of a supplier in my opinion. If you're a hobbyist, you're almost certainly better off using Farnell.

I’m not their biggest fan, had some issues in the past with lead times. TME and farnell I find more reliable…

Yeah I agree, TME and Farnell are always really helpful and less issues. But that's just my experience.

Use them every week at work (we’re an OEM). They deliver DDP for our work account, can’t remember what it was like when I used them for a personal purchase (fpga board for the mister multi system)

Slow but cheap. Not my first choice but sometimes if I'm buying multiples then it works out a lot cheaper so I use them.

I have used them a few times, though never for as big an order as you, and they have always been fine. I think delivery takes about three days, and I definitely didn’t need to pay any extra import fees.
