Pilot influencer caught smuggling drugs

I recently just saw news break of a pilot influencer by the name of “Capt treezy” got arrested in Paraguay with 3.6 million in marijuana. How does one possibly haul this much drugs and not know of it?

Dang would be crazy if the op linked this in his text post!
Status_Bad_4450@reddit
Isn’t this the guy who won that private jet from Mr beast? 😅
xiz111@reddit
How the f*&k does 'Mr Beast' have a jet, let alone one to give away .. ?
doom_pizza@reddit
You're allowed to say fuck on the internet. You don't need to censor it.
xiz111@reddit
No shit?
KITTYONFYRE@reddit
he's got the biggest yt channel, and has slimey business practices.
giving away giant amounts of money is kind of his shtick
xiz111@reddit
There's money, and then there is 'giving away a jet' money ...
staroncrak@reddit
Dawg do you know how rich this man is
xiz111@reddit
Apparently not
Throwawayyacc22@reddit
Who’s gonna tell him?
MrBeast makes WELL into the 8 figures a year, he’s worth more than a billion IIRC.
Theres money in that YouTube stuff.
Status_Bad_4450@reddit
Damn no idea. I really don’t follow that stuff lol I just was sent that video from a friend and watched that one video
Throwawayyacc22@reddit
I don’t either but my nephew loves it so I’m somewhat informed about him, you’re not missing anything
Status_Bad_4450@reddit
You haven’t seen that video lol the guy makes all the pilots have a hand on the jet, whoever lasts the longest got the jet 😭 no idea how the guy affords half the shit he gives away.
yawara25@reddit
Capt treezy? Caught with marijuana? I don't know how anyone could have seen this coming.
Wasatcher@reddit
He's Jamaican too lol
Illustrious-Run3591@reddit
I have often wondered how much interstate trafficking is happening in the skies of America, it's probably significant. Can't get pulled over in a Piper meridian.
Wasatcher@reddit
They're rare but you sure can get ramp checked. But flying for almost a decade and landing at airports in all classes of airspace I've yet to encounter one.
Pubics_Cube@reddit
Authorities said he put up a real smoke screen for a while, but they finally caught up to him on a red-eye.
Then_Bar8757@reddit
And eleven bags of Doritos.
cptnpiccard@reddit
I mean, when you get down to the weeds, this was a foregone conclusion.
Overall_Green1941@reddit
Behind the airplane lol 😂
goatfuckersupreme@reddit
oh brother
isademigod@reddit
I'm picturing cheech and chong's "up in smoke" where the whole airplane is made of weed
rkba260@reddit

Vladeath@reddit
Report back later Detective, trees is spelled with an "S"
yawara25@reddit
Are you sure? I think we should hire a linguistics consultant so we can get a formal report on the matter.
slekce10@reddit
No no, this guy is right. It's probably the subtle letter switch that kept the DEA at bay for so long.
seang239@reddit
Right? Imagine talking about spelling words without having a PhD. The audacity out here with some of these people.
320sim@reddit
And not know it? That would weigh hundreds if not over a thousand points and take up an absurd amount of space. I have no idea who that guy is but I highly doubt anyone could unknowingly transport that much weed in a smaller plane and not know it
taxcheat@reddit
570lbs. Couldn't find an English article, but there's this source
InitialEquipment7967@reddit
disappointingly not 420lbs
elkab0ng@reddit
420 nautical lbs. ftfy.
Chicago_Blackhawks@reddit
Impressive lol
specialsymbol@reddit
That's not that much. Which raises the question 3.6 million of what? Rubels?
gameforge@reddit
Media/govt. is using the reference street price of $50/eighth. I have paid that much for weed but not since long before Amendment 64 passed in Colorado in 2014.
570 [lb] * 16 [oz/lb] = 9,120 [oz]
9,120 [oz] * 400 [$/oz] = 3,648,000 [$]
tarrasque@reddit
Aren't rec prices pretty expensive given heavy taxes and all that? I live in CO but don't partake.
RealisticBox1@reddit
When I bought weed as a teenager for the first time in 2009 in a Milwaukee suburb I spent $30 for 1/16th of an ounce
Yesterday I picked up a quarter oz medical at a dispensary in Minneapolis. $50
Weed prices have dropped for me in real terms since 2009. In inflationary terms they have dropped even more. I can get a half oz for $120 now, which would have gotten me a quarter oz in 2009.
I just used Gemini to translate this into eggs.
In 2009 a gram of weed cost as much as 124 eggs. In 2026 it costs 38 eggs per gram.
tarrasque@reddit
Lmao we should now just trade eggs for weed
RealisticBox1@reddit
Costco memberships just got slightly more valuable
elkab0ng@reddit
Dispensaries around here (AZ) will sell an ounce for $60. So retail value here would have been just over $500k - and obv less at wholesale prices.
For those who have a medical card, it’s even lower.
(No, I don’t like the stuff, my wife does occasionally, and I just find myself amused that I can walk into a store and buy weed from a “budtender” who gives details like a sommelier about various strains and offerings 🤣)
tarrasque@reddit
Interesting. Maturing markets and competition I suppose. I know in the first five or so years after legalization here in CO people were complaining that legal weed was super pricey and thus were still buying on the much cheaper gray market.
elkab0ng@reddit
I have anecdotal knowledge that an ounce went for like $35 back in the early eighties, but that was of course on the informal market cough
There definitely has been talk of competition driving the price down - when dispensaries are advertising their prices on billboards next to the freeway it’s definitely a fairly mature environment!
Thick_Comedian_6707@reddit
Yea it better be anecdotal.
Belfastscum@reddit
Nope, it's actually very affordable. OZs can be as low as $50 here in Michigan
gameforge@reddit
I haven't smoked in over 10 years, but the closest dispensary to me is Starbud's and the highest price on their site (that I'm seeing) is $175/oz., so, much cheaper than the illegal street prices I used to pay (and what's quoted in the story).
OzrielArelius@reddit
so really it's less than 1M but still a fuck ton
switch72@reddit
The article here: https://estonianworld.com/security/a-private-jet-piloted-by-an-estonian-is-found-with-260kg-of-hashish/
explains it was actually hashish, something between flower and rosin. That's a lot more concentrated that flower, so I assume sells at a higher price.
gameforge@reddit
570 lbs. of hash is an enormous amount of hash, and yes it sells for a far higher price as it lasts much longer per weight. However media/law enforcement is notorious for not having a clue what they're talking about, so my guess is they're still using the ancient street/book value for ordinary flower.
PromethazineNsprite@reddit
Must’ve included the plane in the price lol
Big_OOOO@reddit
We really got into the weeds here.
Xenoman5@reddit
Just doing some quick weed math in my head I think it’s a bit more than 2200 pounds or 1 ton. Cops always quote street value when announcing busts. Assuming $100 an ounce, that goes into $3.6 mil 36,000 times. Dividing that by 16 gets us 2,250 pounds. Not something that could fit in a duffel bag. Also the smell would be very noticeable.
-Badger3-@reddit
Yeah, 3.6 million in weed is a fuck ton of weed.
HavingNotAttained@reddit
Is a fuck ton > a metric ton?
EchoGlyph42@reddit
Smidge and half, no?
IndependenceStock417@reddit
"Hey captain, you're loaded with about 4 fuck tons of fuel and cargo"
keenansmith61@reddit
The thing about law enforcement reporting drug numbers is that they essentially just make shit up. They don't, but their numbers are as good as made up to anyone outside law enforcement.
They weigh packaging as part of the total weight, and use street value over wholesale.
For instance, if I had 10 grams of weed in a baggie and that empty baggie weighed 4 grams, I am in possession of 14 grams of weed. I may have paid $50 for that 10 grams of weed, but since street value is $20/gram and I actually had 14 grams according to the police, they just confiscated 14 grams worth $280 instead of 10 worth $50.
didgeblastin@reddit
Source shows 570 lbs
keenansmith61@reddit
I'm picturing a load like that in a plane being 5-10lb wrapped bricks in duffel bags. Probably 25lbs of wrap and however much the bags weighed that everything was stored in. Probably 500-525lbs of actual weed, rest packaging.
I dunno how much pounds go for these days, but I can find you an ounce of very good stuff in an illegal state for $200. Mathing that out gives us $3200/lb or $1.8 million for 570lbs. Take out the packaging and you drop $100k in value.
You'd get a much better rate buying by the pound. My numbers are based off of ounces and I'm still only coming up with half the value they decided to give it. Actual wholesale for that amount is probably closer to $750,000-1,000,000.
mduell@reddit
0.25t drugs on a 22t jet is something, but hide-able.
Peewee223@reddit
I'm imagining a 172 comically stuffed to the gills, with just a little bit of the window clear so the pilot could land.
"No, officer, I swear I had no idea"
Harry73127@reddit
Was really hoping it was FlyWithKay
ahriyae@reddit
What a way to throw it all away. Didnt he also win $2 million in a mr beast video
eclipseaug@reddit
this pisses me off, I watched that video and he was a douche to the final two contestants. Now that this is known, they 100% deserved to win it over him
Optimal_Pop_8995@reddit
Anon332563@reddit
Optimal_Pop_8995@reddit
Exactly they’re assuming he was the one smuggling lol. It’s equivalent to a truck driver picking up a trailer that’s already locked and delivering it somewhere then being blamed when they find drugs in the trailer. It’s unfair and I hate countries that just blame the pilot.
eclipseaug@reddit
I really don’t think you end up in that kind of situation by coincidence very often. If it was as cut and dry as you stated, I would hope that he wouldn’t have caught charges.
That being said, I should not have jumped to the conclusion that he was guilty until it was proven.
Optimal_Pop_8995@reddit
I’m guessing you haven’t done contract work before. We show up to the jet, preflight, go fly, go to the hotel and either wait for the plane or fly back home. We don’t inspect suitcases or screen the passengers, we just fly and get paid.
impy695@reddit
Just checked. It was a $2.4 million private jet. He may have taken a cash option if offered. If not, I hope they covered the taxes. Also, this apparently happened less than a year ago if OP's story is true
TraditionAmazing@reddit
I believe he did take the cash offer. Also, i don’t think he’s type rated on the challenger so he wasn’t the one flying. He’s typed on the citation.
As stated in the news articles the owner of the jet was the one flying. Did some more research and found his instagram, in one of the videos he posted you can see the pilot on FO seat is also Treezy’s friend which he flies with in the citation as captain.
With these details we know Treezy wasn’t flying, but could he have known all about what was in the plane?
impy695@reddit
I've flown on private jets as a passenger and it is absolutely possible I'd have no idea that it's smuggling that many drugs.
vtjohnhurt@reddit
So he was worried about having the type rating while he was smuggling drugs?
sunnyp0202@reddit
Is his career finished now or what
Throwawayyacc22@reddit
WAIT, ITS THE SAME GUY?
OH BOY!
flyingwithfish24@reddit
I guess the 21 five show can now say they have interviewed two drug smugglers now
sprulz@reddit
This is totally unrelated but I legitimately cannot get into that pod because of how much AI the guys use and how they think it’s the funniest/coolest thing ever. It’s probably just a me thing, and it’s a shame because I do like the stories and sometimes they give good advice, but it’s way too distracting for me lol.
Professional_Read413@reddit
Same. I fast forward so quick through the stupid AI intro songs, and they get that fucking thing to do their ad reads its annoying.
Also just generally get tired of hearing them complaining, and talking about their vacations or expensive toy purchases. If you skip that and the financial advisor stuff it's decent lol
Pilot_BillF@reddit
That last sentence pretty much sums up sitting in an airplane on a 4 day at pretty much every 121 operation!
OzrielArelius@reddit
the first one too. all the older guys 8 fly with are obsessed with AI and constantly use it to make fake pictures of themselves with celebrities or looking jacked or on a mountain or some other dumb shit. they think it's soooo cool and hilarious
Ok_Witness179@reddit
Same. Every now and then there's a topic that sounds potentially interesting, but I have to weight the frustration of digging through all their crap to find it. Then, accidentally hitting the songs always makes me want to stab my ears with a pen. It's soooo bad.
Bigbearcanada@reddit
Different guy. 21.5 interviewed Armando, and he won an 800XP(?) for staying in it for 100 days.
rotardy@reddit
3.6million in weed??? Was he in a dc-3?
thatguy2896@reddit (OP)
Challenger 601
Creepy-Insect8163@reddit
Will he loose his pilots license?
autonym@reddit
The drugs were allegedly found in a hangar. The pilot was arrested at a hotel. The pilot's alleged connection to the hangar is unstated, as far as I can find. So there are plenty of ways that the pilot might know nothing of the drugs.
JohnnyUte@reddit
The only thing I hate more than a regular influencer is a pilot influencer.
Difficult_Spring8058@reddit
Nice try FAA
gordonscotts@reddit
It’s people like you that worry so much about what other people are doing with their own fucking lives that this world gets away with what they get away with who cares it’s a shame he got caught this what really matters right now but we know what side you’d be on
Happy-Table-9515@reddit
All I’ve gotten out of this is how sad it is that any of you follow Mr. Beast.
Bucketnate@reddit
No damn way...Even with a bit of an ego i always hoped for the best for him. Disappointing.
Schwalbe262Guy@reddit
Bro. Didn’t he also win the 2.4 mil jet, man
FlyingKamaro@reddit
He also won 2 million from a Mr.Beast challenge, threw it all away for greed…
srirachaninja@reddit
Because they always use the single dose price when calculating a drug bust. The real value is probably something like 50-100k
Rustyshackilford@reddit
Right? I cant really see weed being that expensive these days.
Lmao for smuggling weed too. You can literally drive a state away to get it.
srirachaninja@reddit
I hate when they do it. It's like saying your 1L bottle of Smirnoff is worth $1000 just because some shady club in Miami sells watered-down shots of it for $15.
mianosm@reddit
1L should produce 20 shots (22 if you're being pedantic, but spillage and variance is a thing) if you're measuring them out correctly; that's only $300 per bottle of Smirnoff. :-)
ShoeLate6266@reddit
It’s for headlines
Pubics_Cube@reddit
That's why I always get my weed in bulk at Costco
mhammaker@reddit
Can you imagine Kirkland Signature edibles
PsyopBjj@reddit
This is the guy that won the Mr. Beast competition for the free jet
daveatc1234@reddit
Nope. Very different guy
PsyopBjj@reddit
You can literally see him winning the jet on his IG page

Valid though

Dude is insufferable and arrogant. And a show off.. glad he got canned so I don’t have to see his BS anymore.
Optimal_Pop_8995@reddit
You realize the drugs were inside the walls right? How is he supposed to know that on a jet that isn’t his?
pappu_thomas@reddit
Do you think they are going to cancel his plane licenses? Can someone explain? Thank You.

Hi, I'm a bot and it looks like you're asking a question about medical issues: marijuana.
Medicals can be confusing and even scary, we get it. Unfortunately, the medical process is very complex with many variables. It's too complex, in fact, for any of us to be able to offer you any specific help or advice.
We strongly suggest you discuss your concerns with a qualified aviation medical examiner before you actually submit to an official examination, as a hiccup in your medical process can close doors for you in the future. Your local AME may be able to provide a consultation. Other places that may provide aeromedical advice include: AOPA, EAA, the Mayo Clinic, and Aviation Medicine Advisory Service.
For reference, here is a link to the FAA's Synopsis of Medical Standards and for more in-depth information here is a link to the FAA's Guide for Aviation Medical Examiners.
Also, feel free to browse our collection of past medical write-ups and questions in our FAQ.
Finally, we suggest you read the instructions on the medical application very closely. Do not volunteer information that isn't asked for, but also do not lie. Some people may urge you to omit pertinent information, or even outright lie, on your medical application in order to avoid added hassle and expense in obtaining a medical certificate. Know that making false statements on your medical application is a federal crime and that people have been successfully prosecuted for it. But for heaven's sake, don't tell the FAA any more than you absolutely have to.
If you're not in the United States, the above advice is still generally correct. Just substitute the FAA with your local aviation authority.
Good luck!
