Its mostly just the population difference, swap the values and guys could be a lot more picky. But then again the population difference is probably due to differences between men and women so kind of a shitty hypothetical.

The population difference derives from the same core thing: most women are presented with potential sexual/romantic options more frequently than they like, most men are presented with them very rarely and make many attempts to find them.
Dating apps just recapitulate and heighten the same dynamics.
