idk know much about cars but im turning 18 in 4months and idk if i should save for a 1994 mazda miata it looks cool and i really want one there pretty cheap too but idk if i it would be a good starter car

They're cheap because they're 32 years old. If you don't know much about cars, you shouldn't buy something this old unless you've got someone to teach you how to fix it.

i can ask my brother he know alot of car i just kinda helped him fix his

It's probably still not a good first car. I have a 2001 Miata and i wouldn't trust it to be my only mode of transportation. I spent 3 hours replacing a wiring harness to fix an intermittent no start issue just for it to happen again and i still don't know what the cause is.

i would not use it everyday i mean like for a job but not everyday
naterpotater246@reddit
yeah, you're not gonna last long at your job if you can't drive to work

like 15min walk ? and 3 days per week

Oh, well if you can just walk to work, then it's not such a big deal. I'd say go for it

No it's not safe for a first car. If you want a Mazda get a first gen Mazda 3 first or second gen in stick. A coworker hit a deer and also drove off a exit and lived to tell about in one.

im saying for a car that i would use like 3 times a week

For a first car no still. My first car was a two door Sentra in stick. My second car was then a Honda CRX SI. I had the sentr for at least a year getting to know how to drive stick and survive the roads.

Parts are relatively cheap if you can shop around, good second hand spares are readily available. It's RWD which can cause issues if you're unfamiliar with the dynamics involved in driving a RWD sports car. With snow tires they're decent in the snow, no worse than a comparably aged Civic based on the weights.
If working on it yourself isn't possible it's beneficial to find a shop that knows them well, especially when it comes to suspension alignment. They aren't particularly difficult to work on and there is a plethora of information online on how to do almost any job on the car.

90’s Japanese compact/sports cars are tin cans. Convertibles especially are dangerous as they have zero rollover protection. Really shouldn’t be in one till you’ve driven long enough to be properly defensive. I’ve seen folks die and be maimed from relatively low speed accidents. Spring for a nc if possible, much safer and less maintenance for gremlins down the road.

That is a sports car and you aren't even 18 yet. Your insurance is going to be insane.
If you live anywhere with snow, this will be difficult to drive in the winter.
