There's a fraction of my brain that still thinks this exists.

Gimme a Mexican Pizza, an order of cinnamon twists and a medium Mountain Dew.
horror-@reddit
I worked here in the 90s.
knosmo78@reddit
You could feed half a dozen people for less than $20. When I was in college (late 90s) we would go there to study or hang out and I could be full for a couple of bucks.
Mike__O@reddit
Their old shredded chicken recipe used to be amazing. Not sure why they changed it, but they need to change it back
TransportationOk657@reddit
Of all the items that have disappeared, I miss the shredded chicken soft taco the most. Followed closely by the 4 alarm double decker taco.
sjphotopres@reddit
Their green sauce was also really good.
Stcharlesmatt@reddit
Well they are bring back the Pizza Hit classics. Maybe there is hope for the Bell.
Alarmed_Drop7162@reddit
Taco Bell off jurupa in riverside
urbanlife78@reddit
With a five dollar bill you could eat like a king
Remarkable_Fruit_654@reddit
I eat a lot of fast food, but I can't bring myself to eat Taco Bell anymore. It's crazy expensive. I have no idea how they still have customers.
urbanlife78@reddit
I order only on the app and typically get the box combos, and then with my points, I get the gordita crunch, which is the most expensive free thing to get
nola_mike@reddit
"The question was how much Taco bell could you get for $20. The answer? Infinite."
urbanlife78@reddit
I remember the time when my buddy and I went to Taco Bell and ordered a bunch of stuff for maybe $8 and they gave us the wrong order that was probably about $20 of food. It was four full sacks of food. We ate Taco Bell all night while playing video games
nemonimity@reddit
I would like 2 tacos, a meximelt and burrito supreme and 1 med ice tea and 1 med sprite.
$5.87 you say?
LoadedLapidist@reddit
4 nuggets, half coke half Diet Coke.
KifTokes@reddit
Take the other 2 nuggets and shove them up your ass
SpoonFullOfSugar1111@reddit
And then um...can I have a junior western bacon chee? A JUNIOR western bacon.
I'm tryin to watch my figure...
BUNNIES_ARE_FOOD@reddit
RIP meximelt
Suspicious-Grand9781@reddit
I want a Bellbeffer. No one I know remembers those.
nemonimity@reddit
That was the burger with the taco meat wasnt it?
Suspicious-Grand9781@reddit
Yes, enchilada sauce, lettuce and tomato. I don't remember if it had onion. I make my own.
nemonimity@reddit
Didn't last long enough
Extreme_Shop_4958@reddit
That’s Taco Bell!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Big_Librarian_1130@reddit
That stupid automated trashcan that would open, "thank you".
cellrdoor2@reddit
Please wait while tbd trash compacts.
Shadrach77@reddit
Yeah. A fraction of my brain insists on thinking that someday I'll go home to all of this again. Wiser, but ready to head to Taco Bell at 2am again.
This photo is Solid. This is among our formative memories. Part of the Foundation. It was there when we got there.
Everything after becoming an adult has been new. Our families, our careers, the new taco bells. It's not part of the Foundation. It's like we're visiting the future and someday we'll go back to what's solid.
That said, one of the big Realizations of my life was understanding that, objectively, everything constantly changes, and it always has. There never was a Solid, definitive Taco Bell. Even the one in this picture probably looked different 5 years prior (unless it was newly built).
cellrdoor2@reddit
Definitely this. I live in NYC and have for the last 20 ish years. As a newbie to the city I worked for people who had their career heyday here in the 70s, 80s, and 90s so heard all about THEIR city. Constant new iterations. I miss some things but I wouldn’t want a dead static city either.
Relevant_Outside2781@reddit
Mentally I never left the Border
cellrdoor2@reddit
The one we went to in high school looked like this. It had garbage cans that said “thank you” with a southern accent when they were used. Occasionally it would say, “please wait while the trash compacts”.
Jcaquix@reddit
Do taco bells not still look lik this?
frankensundae@reddit
Make a run for the border was such a messed up slogan
MarshmallowWerewolf@reddit
The Tbell in my town built a new store a decade ago. Their old site that still looks like the pictures above was bought and turned into a Mr. Hero. It is a drive through only store. Glimpsing into the window is like looking at a museum exhibit. It is all there in its glory but just out of reach.
DarthBster@reddit
BrontosaurusB@reddit
I mopped those floors hundreds of times
Cephalopod_Dropbear@reddit
Mop, mop, mop, all day long. Mop, mop, mop, while I sing this song. Gonna wax that floor, gonna make it shine. Gonna take off the spray paint with turpentine.
nola_mike@reddit
Hey!!! Don't walk there I just mopped!

My high school Taco Bell.
DarbIey@reddit
I haven't been in a Taco Bell since it looked like this LOL
Madam_Apathy@reddit
My local Taco Bell lost this decor in 2020, remodeled to the sad gray brick. It was so sad. My fondest memory was being 8 months pregnant and unable to sit at a table with the attached chairs, I was too voluptuous for the seats.
WakeyWakeeWakie@reddit
So many great late night drunken visits. There’s an ice cream place near us that inexplicably has an even earlier generation Taco Bell cart in a corner of their property.
full_of_ghosts@reddit
I mean, I haven't gone anywhere near any fast food place in so long that it still looks exactly like this in my memory. It's weird to think it looks like something else these days.
slithyknid@reddit
At our age I’m increasingly finding that If you dropped out of the flow of any part of life— even little things like this, not going inside a fast food place— it literally feels like you’re a time traveller. You look around and the reality of the world is simply different, and part of me always has trouble 100% believing it’s real
AetheriaInBeing@reddit
This is so true.
I drive a 16 and a 25 year old car. My spouse has a 10 year old car. They're paid off. they run. No reason to replace. Then I hear people like "it costs 2000 to replace a bumper cover. And that's just parts!" Or "I didn't disconnect the electric to the ebrake when I did my brake job so I had to replace my rear calipers" And I'm just confused. Like I've since learned why but the first time you hear stuff like that it just doesn't make sense
I got into 3d printing right around the pandemic and I got everything running how I like it and I'm happy. Haven't gone too deep into fishing in years. Just run it when I need an x or y. Then I see posts there where folks are like "what do you mean you don't have a bed that can fit this and print it at that speed? You still have a glass bed? Are you running an ancient printer?" Apparently 5-6 years is ancient. I have no idea what the new stuff is and I don't know that I want to. My stuff does what I want it to.
What do you mean your dishwasher needs an app?
I visit places by my parents and I'll say something like "and over here there should be this crazy building that we used to........ Huh. It's not there. The road doesn't even go that way now" I feel like if I look away from something for 3 months then I'm turning into Gandalf in Moria: "I have no memory of this place"
I kind of understand how some folks in my parents generation have no clue about housing prices or things like that I imagine my folks do only because their kids, nieces and nephews have gone through it and my folks aren't the sort to dismiss their kids, nieces and nephews as fools.
koei19@reddit
I admittedly still visit Taco Bell more than I should and even though I know it's not true, I still feel like the decor is the same as it was in the 80s and 90s.

There was at least one Taco Bell location that still looked like this, up until about a year ago when it was finally remodeled. There are probably a few others across the country that still do.
lakebistcho@reddit
Why doesn't it look like this anymore?
DegTrader@reddit
My brain still loads this place like its on dial up internet. takes a minute but the nostalgia hits hard and suddenly I am 12 again
this_knee@reddit
It doesn’t exist? God it’s been forever since I’ve been.

The coin games have long dried out but they refuse to take the off the counter because ....?
imnojezus@reddit
The real ones remember.
AnticitizenPrime@reddit
I remember when the wrappers on tacos and burritos from Taco Bell had printed instructions on the wrapper to tell you how to eat them. Peel the wrapper back a bit, take a bite, etc.
I've scoured the internet for pictures of these but they do not exist, but if you search for it you will find many memories of same.
Example one: https://www.reddit.com/r/tacobell/comments/ryo1d1/original_soft_taco_wrapper/
Example two: https://www.reddit.com/r/tacobell/comments/qsms6m/instructions_on_wrappers/
Some day a legend will show up with receipts.
Real_EB@reddit
Ugh, you entered from the left?
imnojezus@reddit
No, the center arch was the doors. That might be an emergency exit or something 🤷🏻♂️
thedoommerchant@reddit
A better time before quality got worse and corporations raised the price for a worst product. Last time Taco Bell was worth my money was when they brought back the decades menu. I miss going there with my homie and splitting a grande meal after smoking a joint.
Additional_Egg7024@reddit
Taco Bell with 39 cent tacos. 🌮 fuck I miss the 90s
youreusingyourwrong@reddit

Now we have to order from kiosks, it costs $10, and there's no more Double Decker Taco.
Olelander@reddit
The loss of the double decker was the final nail for me. I gave up on Taco Bell after that.
No-Tax-209@reddit
Taco John’s was better.
Olelander@reddit
Still is
ChiMara777@reddit
I had no clue what this was, but also we didn’t have any Taco Bell around us so I didn’t go there much…

God it was so cheap back then too. Everything was under a dollar.
