I love seeing those T/R shells work! Myself and my Lead built those in O.P. Spares at ROHR Industries (Chula Vista, Ca.) from 1989 - 1991. We called the shell doors "buckets" back then. Good times (smiling, nodding sigh...). 😊

Clamshells are similar but are held internal, and quite literally close "like a clamshell" and vent the exhaust through ports opened in the same action, like a cold bypass. 73s are just buckets

How effective are those buckets,or any thrust reverser design in general? if the engine can produce 100 units of forward thrust, how much net braking force will it make with the reverser engaged?

When the NGs came out some operators offered a digital six pack display instead of the full PFD in case pilots didn't want to migrate to the AI with the altitude and speed tape along the sides.

In Canada they are different type ratings. B73A vs B73C. A pilot checked out on this 737-200 would require training and a flight test in full flight level D simulator before they flew the NG. They would then require line indoc and a line check before being released to fly the line. There is no assessed transition from the 200 to the Max. Probably because nobody has asked to do it.
