With bonus Game Genie. I used to have so many more, but this is all that remains.

Ahh Marble Madness, A forgotten gem! Had it on Amstrad CPC, Amiga, and NES
BRINGERofMILK@reddit
One of the few non-Mario and JRPG games I beat. I was PUMPED when I finally beat it.
S1ayer@reddit
I had that game and could never get past the disappearing platforms at the very end of the game.

I will never forget beating that game. I only did it once I think in college so never got close growing up.
Medical_Drawer_5763@reddit
Haha I don't think I ever did. That's a true achi.
International_Link35@reddit
Two player was even more insane, my brother and I spent countless hours at it.
Architorture_66@reddit
Everything was fine until you get to the level where the maze starts moving, too. Then the madness definitely takes hold.
LivingAnomoly@reddit
I miss and also don't miss Marble Madness
Von_Dielstrum@reddit
I never finished Captain Skyhawk unfortunately.

My one regret from childhood was that I was never able to beat Snake Rattle N Roll. I loved that game, but I just couldn't beat the foot on the moon.
I did feel better when I found out later via the internet that everyone has a hard time with that foot. Apparently if you stop licking it for even a second it's health regenerates completely.
I still loved that game though.

I never knew anyone else who had it or even played it. The songs would get stuck in my head for days.
Vern1138@reddit
I've never met another person in the wild who played it either. But that version of Shake, Rattle and Roll is burned into my memory. I was also surprised when I found out that Rare made it, who would later go on to make Donkey Kong Country, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, and Conker.
And somehow I don't think they procured the musical rights to "Shake, Rattle, and Roll."

I have found my people! I loved that game, but never knew anyone else who played it!
Vern1138@reddit
I'm kind of surprised that I found this many people who remember it as well. As far as emulating the game, yeah, it's available.
I don't see anything in the rules here, but to be on the safe side I won't post direct links so you'll have to search, but Mesen is a great emulator that supports quite a few different systems, NES, SNES, Gameboy, GBA, Wonderswan, PC Engine. And the NES emulation is really good.
As far as ROMs for NES games, you can probably find a backup copy through Vimm's Lair, that's assuming you own the original cartridge of course.

There are dozens of us!
Also, I could never beat the foot on the moon either.
S1ayer@reddit
all my NES games are gone, but I still have some SNES games that I traded the NES games for
chronicnerv@reddit
I forgot captain skyhawk existed.
chriszimort@reddit
Snake rattle and Roll is awesome. I think it was one of the last games released on the NES
chriszimort@reddit
Nope - I was wrong. 1990 - last game was released for the nes in 95. Still awesome though. Even with game genie, I could never lick the foot enough on the big cheese in the last level to kill it.
BuggyBonzai@reddit
Those who know understand RBI baseball is one of the most fun games ever made.

My wife has her old NES still, with about 100 games, including the power pad for the Olympic Games. We currently have it hooked up to our TV, but it really is an exercise in frustration playing now, after getting used to modern games with quick saves. It's hard to lose all your lives and have to restart the entire game.

Finding old NES carts is like opening a time capsule except half the time you also find that one controller with sticky buttons that somehow still works lol Game Genie was basically cheat codes before the internet made us all humble
Yeeslander@reddit
Captain Skyhawk--a man of culture, I see...
ronswansonsego@reddit
Loved that game. Me and my sister had a joystick controller just for that game.
thisismynewnewacct@reddit
Hell yes. Thought I was the only one who had this
anOvenofWitches@reddit
Snake Rattle & Roll was way better than it had any business being. Epic!
Lopsided_Toe3452@reddit
I can still hear it "Dub-L drib-el"
GravyPainter@reddit
Paperboy was so damn hard
ceebeefour@reddit
Whatcha playing first
crazycatlady331@reddit
Paperboy.
crazycatlady331@reddit
Paperboy.
Had that game on Game Boy and enjoyed it when I was able to pry Tetris out of my mom's hands.
ThePerfectSnare@reddit
Marble Madness was one of the only games I had. Everything you know is wrong.
zenith2nadir@reddit
Yes! The Silly Race Syndrome!
Deesmateen@reddit
Solid haul. We did the same. At my in laws vacation house I took the nes down for my kids to experience. Bought California Games, Contra and Mike Tyson punch out in addition to their other games
Hikeboardgames@reddit
Excellent set. Might be Paperboy first.
