You helped me make the decision to get a Tune Camper! Although, I got a Tune M1L. I get it installed next week and couldn’t be more excited! Love seeing your pics all over Instagram, too. Keep up the great work!

How many miles have you put on your truck
Hitesh9826@reddit
Beautiful road
Most_Talk_2067@reddit
What camper set up do you have?
SupaFlow@reddit
Looks like a Tune M1

I’m picking mine up next week - I watched all your videos to help make my decision. Thanks!

Lil Bs front bumper!

Absolutely beautiful picture. Did you have someone else rake it or did you set up a tripod in the middle of the road.
connography_@reddit (OP)
My girlfriend drove the truck while I snapped the pics.

I’ve bailed on a spot before when I noticed that the few “campers” near by were tweakers and had started eyeing my spot from a distance… otherwise the usual tweakers that I get tend to be of the furry variety and it doesn’t take much to get them to scurry away
ComradeCooter@reddit
Are you working on the road? If so i have questions
connography_@reddit (OP)
I am! Ask away

I'm trying to plan the same type of trip. My concern is windy/rainy days.
I have a tacoma with RTT, and a tarp to hang off the back. Thats fine for nice days, and then I just got a tent for wet and windy conditions. I basically need a table with a laptop and monitor on it.
What does your work setup look like?
connography_@reddit (OP)
RTT is definitely a lot more difficult to do full time in because you can’t really stand, cook, change, etc in. With my camper I have the whole bed area as my living space to do all of that in which my essential for a full time rig is to be able to stand. Prolly #1 priority l.
That said, you can definitely do it! I know people who have done full time for a year+ in a RTT. It’s just about making do with what you have. My work setup is just my MacBook and that’s it lol. I can sit and hangout inside when the weather sucks though which definitely helps. Really it depends how long you’re thinking of going for
Outside-Season-5602@reddit
may i ask what type of work you do? i would love to work in the go, but having a large monitor makes my work 2-3x faster than just the laptop screen. 80% of my day is creating spreadsheets and other 20% presentation decks.
connography_@reddit (OP)
I do photography and videography full time on the road so definitely a bit different from what you do. I’d just give it a try, take a longish road trip out of the truck and do a test run. If it’s not for you, nothing wrong with that

Not OP, but I also work from the road on a job that is Program Management in the software industry. So a lot of calls for status updates (both directions) and then preparing information I have a pop up topper on my truck bed and I've built it to be my little mobile office. The thing I've learned is to make everything 12v for power efficiency. So I have a set of those wing monitors that attach to each side of your main laptop screen. That works most times. But when I want something bigger, I also have a 12v RV TV that I can run a cable to and act as my larger screen. The RV tv stores mounted to the wall for travel. I also use a portable / rechargable keyboard and mouse to prevent me from be up close bent over the laptop all day.

I tried this in a RTT when I was first starting to work from the road. I quickly realized it wasn't going to work for what I do. Then I tried an offroad squaredrop style trailer. Nope, still not enough room and couldn't stand up and stretch without getting out. I'm now in a truck with a pop up topper that opens to 6'11" and it's a HUGE game changer. I also need external monitors but power consumption is not your friend. Make every attempt to only use 12v equipment so you don't have to invert and have power loss. Modern laptops will run from USB-C, and you can buy the attached side screens that hook on to your lap top screen. I also run with a 12v RV TV. Occasionally when I need a larger screen I'll use that instead.

I spent 15 years on the road, driving for a living. I made it to all 48 contiguous states, Alaska, 5/10 Canadian Provinces (Ontario to British Colombia) and 2 of 3 Canadian Territories (Northwest Territories & Yukon). I've been down into Mexico as well, though, not as far or as extensively. I didn't even scratch the surface of things to see or places to visit. You can spend an entire lifetime on the road, moving from place to place, seeing and exploring the world we live in and still not get to it all.

Beautiful!

I was full time for 7 years and there's STILL so much for me to see. Love our giant country.
mermaidmamas@reddit
What type of work do you do that allows for this?
Rox217@reddit
Ayyyy was just there a few weeks ago. Awesome place. Best of luck on your travels 🤙🏻

Amazing pic!

Sketchiest thing that has happened while camping? I did a 25 day stent camping out of a roof top tent and always was just a little irked about the remoteness of some locations and if some tweaker or something rolled up on me.
connography_@reddit (OP)
Haven’t ever had anything sketchy happen tbh. I carry, and I’ll say for the first year depending where I was I had the feeling you felt but for the last year or so, I don’t even think about it. Obviously location matters, I’m a lot more alert if I have to stay the night in a city which is every now and then.

Monument Valley, love it there.

Can’t not stop to take pics every time I drive through it
