My thoughts as I read this,

• how bad can it be? It’s a pretty laid back subreddit, I doubt they’ll write anything that would get it removed let alone banned.

I’m someone who comes from a long line of drivers, and has been in the industry myself for 20+ years.

• oh god, 🙄 the word insufferable starts to come to mind. Save the BS and just get to it. Your little experience doesn’t matter. Lord.

That being said, I need to let some of you know… you don’t need to come rolling through small town residential areas with a 0% grade with your engine brake. You’re being a nuisance, a disturbance, and disrespectful to an otherwise quiet and peaceful area.

• I actually agree, but fuck you way to fucking long to get to it. But yes, engine brakes are never needed in a small town. Almost all of these small towns gradually bring the speed limit down. It was 55, they drop you to 45, then 35, some want you at 25. All before getting into town. If your lazy ass really has a problem using your service brakes then use your jakes outside of town and follow the speed limit down. Once in town, there’s zero reason to use engine brakes. And a lot of you don’t have your brake lights triggered when the jacks kick in. Let the people behind you know you’re slowing down. You know, the same reason we circle jerk and bitch about using turn signals to indicate, well you should also use your brake lights to indicate. It’s professional. It’s being a responsible driver.
