Wrong doing was done but that gave no one the right to bully and harass this woman and her family. Thats disgusting! Whatever happened to someone messing up, being reprimanded, having it handled, and moving on? No one was harmed by this action. Why the hate towards her? This is sad and disgraceful.

She was the principal and knowingly permitted an event that was not vetted by the district and permitted adults that had not been vetted and signed in according to district policy to be interacting with her students. For all she knew they could have been convicted felons, had an open warrant or been on the sex offender list.
It was worthy of termination on its face…not because it was about Islam but because of the egregious violation of safety policy.

Nearly everything you typed here regarding the specifics of this event and the district's vetting process is false.

I do wonder if it was a resignation in lieu of termination "resign voluntarily or be fired"

I don’t think a school district would issue a support statement if that were the case.

What happened? Can’t seem to find info on what the incident was a the Why Islam event.

Former principal doolan allowed an islam booth to hand out islamic items to students on campus

Was she even aware of it ahead of time?
Actual_Guidance_167@reddit
She might have been aware. The student group celebrates that every year. She was not on campus for this year's event, though.
The faculty sponsor of the group did not follow the proper protocols for getting outside groups and materials approved by the school district, and no one caught it.

Google “Wylie tx February 2026 Islam”
Four adults with a group called “Why Islam?” were allowed to enter Wylie East High School during lunchtime and set up a World Hijab Day table in a common area. They handed out copies of the Quran and pamphlets on “Understanding Shariah,” and offered hijabs to female students.
The table was sponsored by the school’s Muslim Student Association, but the club did not have authorization to distribute the materials, nor did a sponsor escort the outsiders or supervise the display.

It was a major security violation, as the adults were not pre-screened or signed in, and it was a major policy violation, as the whole event was not approved by the district. The principal was aware of it as she wore a hijab.
Honestly she should have been immediately suspended and then fired after the investigation…the latter of which probably was going to happen so she quit.

The picture of Mrs. Doolan in a hijab is from the previous year's event that involved only students.
Also, the group from Why Islam was still vetted through the RAPTORS system and passed security checkpoints. The policy breakdown was allowing the distribution of non-approved items (including religious items). The student club's faculty sponsor did not know/follow proper protocols, and the office staff didn't ensure that those protocols had been followed.
Mrs. Doolan was not even on campus during the event.

Tough talk from a district that allowed fellowship of christian athletes meetings to be held during lunchtime via a microphone and speaker from the head football coach.
That being said, any outside organization should be supervised when on school grounds.

Two wrongs definitely don't make a right, but yes…the security protocol violations are way more significant than the religious stuff.
