Parts list:

GPU: 9070xt saphire nitro+

CPU: 9800X3D

MOBO: B850 gigabyte gaming x wifi6e

RAM: 32 corsair vengeance

NVMe: klevv g925

AIO: monotech 360 lightflow

PSU: 850w monotech century 2 atx 3.1

When I originally booted it went straight to bios but I had about 12 hours of troubleshooting to find out one of my sticks of ram was bad, replaced that and got the system stable.

System is stable and temps are cool while the gpu is at 60-80% usage. During a higher stress gaming run with the gpu at 100% usage and thermals sitting at 61c and the CPU at 54c, I got a black screen requiring me to hit the psu switch on the back after about 10 minutes of gaming.

Right now im leaning towards the PSU not being rated high enough to deal with the transient spikes common with this gpu. PSU lockout triggered by an OCP or OPP event.

With the spikes in mind I believe my systems absolute peak wattage is 962, the tech at microcenter had ensured me the 850 was enough at the time of purchase although I was skeptical.

Am I in the right ballpark? Planning to go return the psu and swap to a 1000w mpg unit
