I'm concerned about the underbody engine cover coming loose from the car (MAZDA CX3). Is it a big deal?

I have a question.

Today, I drove through heavy rain and flooding, and the underbody protection plate came loose due to the high water pressure. I took it to a garage today for inspection. They removed it and said I need to go to the service center to have a new one installed.

I'm worried about the potential for serious engine damage, because I continued driving through the floodwaters, which reached the sidewalk level.

I'd like to ask if driving without the underbody protection plate significantly increases the risk of engine damage? I'm going to the service center tomorrow. If they have the parts, can they replace it within the day?

If they don't have the parts, how many days does it usually take?

I'm also planning to have the engine inspected at the same time, as I'm concerned about potential damage.

I also have an important errand in two days and I need to drive to another city for 2-3 hours. I'm very worried.

Thank you.
