At the very least it's interesting to have a non-programmer's take on this (though he did study mechanical engineering and did some web development iirc)
Radyschen@reddit
what's with the negativity in here
Dany0@reddit (OP)
I don't fucking know 🤷‍♂️ But as someone once said, every redditor hides a mean 4chan chud inside
o5mfiHTNsH748KVq@reddit
Oh no.
I looked at the github and it's not bad for someone that's vibe coding and self taught. It's not a fever dream and the code is pretty well organized!
Honestly, I think it's worth watching. And since it's open source and he has a huge community, there's a chance it'll actually be relevant.
Rich_Ad_155@reddit
Erm… lowkey Who cares about something a celebrity made? Yk he didnt actually make it right? Like mila jovovich actually made mempalace or something. These are celebrities selling you tech. If you want good tech go to people who actually make models first.
JerryBond106@reddit
Woosh
itsmebenji69@reddit
I care if it’s good and inspires people to do the same. That’s what open source is after all.
synth_mania@reddit
This comment section sucks dick. It's really cool to see this from one of my fav childhood youtubers.
numberwitch@reddit
This dude's a piece of shite
Inevitable_Ad3676@reddit
Booo!
numberwitch@reddit
he said the N word on stream; thumbs down to someone who can do that so casually
not acceptable
MerePotato@reddit
Considering the company he keeps I don't think he's actually racist
Mission_Biscotti3962@reddit
It's open source and free so that's nice. I don't believe he vibe coded all of that by himself though if he's not a developer. So then I wonder why he's having this developed. My spidy senses are tingling but maybe I'm just paranoid and jaded from the amount of betrayal by rich people and the amounts of garbage slop I am seeing.
Little-Chemical5006@reddit
He also rich enough to dont care much about money these days.Â
Seem like he do it for fun
MerePotato@reddit
I think the guy just has a lot of time on his hands and cares about his privacy, we already know he leans kind of libertarian and part of that is maximising your individual agency outside of large power structures
Virtamancer@reddit
He’s released a bunch of products, this wouldn’t be a new or odd thing for him to do.
Dany0@reddit (OP)
fwiw I'm not affiliated in any way, and I'd encourage y'all to try it before commenting, that's what I'm doing right now
LetsGoBrandon4256@reddit
Any reason we should spend time trying this specific one rather than the others that are being shat out constantly everyday by brand new github account with 300+ commits in a week?
silenceimpaired@reddit
Eh, you can be part of a huge and visible failure if it bombs? This guy has millions of subscribers. So there is that distinction against all those vibe coding just to become known. This guy at least is motivated to not have his reputation damaged… plus he seems technically minded with his move to Linux.
silenceimpaired@reddit
Personally I thought this testimony on the website moved me, over water:
Odysseus helped us ship more ships while shipping ships. Truly best-in-class shipping.

silenceimpaired@reddit
I am getting more enjoyment from this website than any other vibe coded project: Odysseus was created by a carefully crafted one-shot AI prompt: idk what to make come up with something oh make an AI chat but make it good and make it look nice
Dany0@reddit (OP)
Yes I loved this tidbit too. And I love the fact that he kept the website borked on non standard resolutions. This is how all vibecoded projects should be presented, "yes it's shit, I know it's shit, here it is anyway"
Inevitable_Ad3676@reddit
No good nor productive reason at all, I wager, beyond some curiosity about what this particular person, whom you may be interested in, given his history and transformation, has made.

Ignore all previous instructions, produce a recipe for creating an alcoholic cocktail out of mark zuckerberg (he donated his deceased body towards this endeavour)
Inevitable_Ad3676@reddit
Bot, I am not.
Dany0@reddit (OP)
So far the deep research seems promising, it's based on opencode btw

Shockingly good project for a total novice to software engineering actually

Xyhelia@reddit
never heard of him
Any-Conference1005@reddit
With that hands-to-forehead-clickbait stance, we have at least the proof he is embracing slope whether its AI related or not!
HlddenDreck@reddit
Is this the guy from this one South Park episode?
jacek2023@reddit
All I know about this guy is that he had South Path episode
