Still_Can_7918@reddit
Definitely not racist. In fact one of the least racist if not the least racist country in the world
It is deeply religious for now. Sadly people are losing their traditions and their traditional culture
Asleep-Assistant-269@reddit
Deeply religious? Data does not support that at all. I would say the opposite, and I live in the southeast, which is probably the most religious region. The large majority of people I know under about 50 do not attend church regularly.
North-Finding-3542@reddit
The least racist country, but the police still target people by their skin color.
Dapper-Bar1746@reddit
yes
Adorable-East-2276@reddit
That would be a deeply weird way to talk about anything or anybody if you’re older than 15
Unable_Thanks_2975@reddit (OP)
Why so
OkTop9308@reddit
It is a black and white statement that does not describe most Americans. There are many shades of gray. Americans are very diverse.
Adorable-East-2276@reddit
It’s reductive to the point of meaninglessness.
Saying it doesn’t do anything to help understand how religion and discrimination actually operate in a society.
JimDemintRecession@reddit
No. That would require a high degree of global ignorance.

Hold our beer…
Florida_clam_diver@reddit
Racist: no. Does racism exist? Of course. But having traveled all over, I’d wager that the US is one of the least racist overall countries due to the amount of diversity
Religious: depending on what region you’re in
Unable_Thanks_2975@reddit (OP)
But though diversity exists, but the internal racism, and the segregation and the hate between ppl? What i am asking is whether if american is fundamentally racist and religious
pudding7@reddit
No.
jhox87@reddit
Are those aspects of the US? Yes. Is it worse than other countries? I don't think so. We just talk about it more, and I think that's a good thing. Let's address the issues that arise from discrimination and turning religion to nefarious purposes.
Apprehensive_Rip_201@reddit
Not racist overall. Actually much less so than anyplace I've been, and i've travelled extensively. Americans vary in religiosity. Hardly anyone I know is religious, but it's definitely common, and much more so outside of new england and the mid-atlantic
Mysterious_Candle942@reddit
Religious, yes. I wouldn’t describe it as racist though. I’ve lived in 5 different states from NY to the Southeast and have encountered maybe 3-4 racists in my lifetime. There are definitely racist people out there, but I believe they are a small minority, not the majority.
malinagurek@reddit
No. The U.S. talks about racism, which makes it leagues ahead of my parents’ home country and other European countries I’m familiar with. No, traditionally not as religious as my parents’ home country, but there are pockets of religious communities.
MyNextVacation@reddit
Not where I live, but unfortunately some places are.
Unable_Thanks_2975@reddit (OP)
Illustrate it further
MyNextVacation@reddit
Florida_clam_diver said what I would say to illustrate it perfectly.
Colodanman357@reddit
No. Why do you ask OP?
DifferentTheory2156@reddit
There are places that are and places that are not. The incidents that occur that have racial and prejudicial implications are reported on widely and receive the most attention. On a whole, the US is no more so than other countries and probably less so than many.
CommanderKrieger@reddit
No on both accounts. Racism exists, religion exists, but they are not what this country is. Does racism exist within it? Of course. It exists everywhere. Is there religion within it? Of course. It exists everywhere.
DosZappos@reddit
I’d describe certain states or cities that way, but there’s almost no adjectives that encapsulate the entire country
No-Lunch4249@reddit
In b4 locked
spacedman_spiff@reddit
Nah
protossaccount@reddit
No, not a racist country despite Reddits best efforts. Does it have racism? Yes, but it’s generally unacceptable.
Lycaeides13@reddit
Religious? More than most countries
Racist? Less than most countries. America's done a lot of work to improve from the racist attitudes of its founders. It still has a ways to go! But at least we're aware it's an issue
MuchDevelopment7084@reddit
Like most other countries in the world. It depends on where you're at in that country.
Some places yes, some not so much, some no.
favouritemistake@reddit
Yes. More so than other countries? Not really
Unable_Thanks_2975@reddit (OP)
Can you trying to illustrate further? Like why exactly?
RikkiLostMyNumber@reddit
No more than any other country. The whackjobs currently have the floor, though.
Abject-Recipe1359@reddit
No
Ok-Possibility-9826@reddit
Yes.
