Ryzen 7 7800X3D running 70C idle and 90C in games with an AIO

Hi, as the title suggests, I’ve been experiencing some issues recently with high temperatures even at idle, despite using a 420mm AIO cooler (Corsair H170i, which I bought at the end of 2023).
Over the past two months, my PC has crashed twice, and I suspect it might be due to high temperatures, so I started looking into it more closely. I noticed that the coolant temperature rarely drops below 40°C, even when I set the pump and fans to maximum. While gaming, the coolant temperature stays around 47–50°C, and the CPU temperature reaches up to 90°C.
Today, I reapplied thermal paste and made sure the cooler was properly mounted, but it didn’t make any difference. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Could it be a failing AIO or a lack of coolant in the loop? I’m not very experienced with this, so I’d really appreciate any advice — please keep in mind that I’m still learning and not very familiar with these things :)

probably just need to replace the AIO.

Could be a pump failing.
But as always, we need the entire setup with pictures to help

Let me know what pictures do you need.

Exactly what i meant, thanks. Also, great looking build you got there :)
Mounting position looks good, i guess there is mesh above the radiator?
I can't see anything from the build that would result in high temperatures, so my guess would be a faulty AIO (or bad mounting, but you said you even re-mounted it). Did you check your temps when you first installed this?

Thanks! As I said I had this cooler since 2023 and the temps were good. Idle at around 30C coolant and 40C coolant while gaming and the CPU never went above 70C in games. So it really is starting to look like a faulty AIO. You got any tips for a good AIO excluding the Arctic (not my style)?

Not even the LF3 ARGB? That would have been my recommendation. For other reviews, check out Gamers Nexus

Trivial but did you take the plastic off the AIO?
Low-Establishment455@reddit (OP)
Yes, I have it since 2023 and until recently I had no problem with it.
lancelane7@reddit
Yeah might need to replace it

replace the cooler, seems it's faulty
