This wasn’t my first visit to Budapest or Hungary, but it was definitely one of the most beautiful trips I’ve had.
Even though I’m not a football fan, I was lucky enough to find a ticket for the Champions League final in Budapest. The city and the organization were absolutely outstanding.
From the very beginning, moving around with public transportation — which was free for three days — made everything smooth and convenient. The availability and punctuality of the transport system were truly impressive and a model to follow.
Shops and restaurants were fully prepared to welcome visitors from all nationalities, and everything went perfectly without any issues.Walking around a historic and clean city like Budapest turned a short trip into countless memories.
All the tourist and public spots were at their best — beautifully arranged, clean, easy to access without tickets, and perfect for taking memorable photos.
On match day, several open areas were designated for fans without tickets to watch the game, creating an amazing atmosphere across the city.As for entering the stadium, it was smooth and well-organized, even if it required some walking to reach the designated gates — a necessary step to avoid crowding in such a major event, especially in a stadium with a capacity of over 60,000 spectators.
Security was excellent — neither too strict nor too relaxed — with clear instructions communicated before the match.
But the best part came after the match.
Public transportation was running with impressive organization, whether heading back to the city center, the airport, or the hotels — something I rarely see in events of this scale. And of course, the celebrations all over the city added to the excitement and energy.Thank you, Budapest…
and thank you to the organizers for such an exceptional and beautifully managed experience.

Why not? You might want to attend to an event or experience it without being a diehard fan.
