No fuel at Edinburgh Airport?

Currently sitting on an Air Lingus flight to Dublin that should have left an hour ago. My connecting flight to Chicago is not looking good at the moment. Captain says it's because we dont have fuel and it seems like the entire airport is out of fuel?? What on earth is going on here.
Anyone else here suffering?

These gas shortages from war have got to be taken seriously. Chevron in America announced shortages and price hikes for the coming summer.

Aer Lingus better materialize some fucking jetfuel real fast or theres a whole cabin full of pissed off Yanks about to miss their connections who are gonna riot.
Also the fuckin AC is broke, this plane is hot as hell. Fuckin cooking in here
Djinnmenken@reddit
No fuel, no engines, no AC. It's not broken the plane wouldn't fly if it was, considering the AC and pressurization cames from the same place.
RufinTheFury@reddit (OP)
Why even board us in the first place then
Djinnmenken@reddit
Because it's bullshit. You can't even refuel plane with passengers on board. So they're lying, something else is wrong. As others have said other planes are taking off.
Marklar_RR@reddit
Of course you can. I sat on a plane that was being refuelled many times.
Djinnmenken@reddit
Well I stand corrected. I learned at AMT school that it's done without passengers, because of the fire risk.
dkzrt@reddit
Different airlines have different policies. Some won’t refuel with passengers onboard, some will but only if connected to an air bridge or passenger steps are in place. It can also depend on what ARFF is available at the airport.
Leon_Gary_Plauche@reddit
Ryanair just say don't put your seatbelt on while it's refueling
Marklar_RR@reddit
Is it not a standard procedure when refuelling?

I hope they have the day they voted for.

Following Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was published at 13:26z today: "Shorthaul and domestic airlines to maximise inbound tankering, due to fuel supply issues resulting in reduced capacity"
Sounds like a technical issue with the ability to supply fuel to aircraft rather than a shortage of fuel itself.
RufinTheFury@reddit (OP)
The solution we just got is that we are flying to Belfast, refueling there, and then on to Dublin. Sounds mildly insane to me but they seem to truly have 0 fuel options here at Edinburgh.

Good god

Can't speak to your specific circumstances, but I once missed a departure slot out of YMML because the fuel truck was 5 tonnes short of what our a380 needed and we had to wait our turn for 85 minutes for the next available truck to show up.
LBBflyer@reddit
Other flights seem to be departing EDI without issues.
RufinTheFury@reddit (OP)
Just got the update, 15 minutes and we get a refueling truck. We'll see if that actually happens.
