The one ripped, shaky, hidden cam version of a film I watched was Rise of Skywalker.
It did not make the experience worse or better.
Actually, maybe it was slightly better, because the cam was so bad, it massively overexposed the lightning from palpatine and underexposed the darkness, giving it this crazy contrast.

Workprint: kino
Camrip: third world garbage
Release: possibly kino
Director cut: higher chance of kino

Every director's cut I've ever seen has been a massive piece of shit because the director thinks that every inch of film he shot is solid gold and crucial to the story and it's the editor's job to tell him that stopping the movie dead so that they can add a poorly-acted redundant scene will ruin the pacing of the film. Also, most director's cuts are released 20 or 30 years after the theatrical version, and Coppola and Ridley Scott and shit were way worse at making movies in 2004 than they were in 1980.

It’s like how most manga in English nowadays was MTL’d by AI which produces barely coherent sentences, but the internet is so brown that nobody can tell it’s wrong or even cares. It’s amazing how low their standards are

I've seen ai translations way better than fansubbers adding zoomed lingo or making an anime girl read like a texan boomer because they don't know how to portray speech quirks or dialects

A true gentleman only appreciates cinema by compelling chamberrmaids and manservants to memorize and perform the latest scripts.
