Have any of the rebooted shows from the 80-90s done well?
MyNameCannotBeSpoken@reddit (OP)
Fuller House and Bel-Air had multiple seasons.

Punky Brewster was just one season and I’m mad about it.
MyNameCannotBeSpoken@reddit (OP)
Was it good?

It had some really great moments. Freddy Prince jr is great. I didn’t like some of the retconning. Over all pretty enjoyable and gave some closure to a few things

They rebooted Punky?!! How did I miss this
MyNameCannotBeSpoken@reddit (OP)
It was on Peacock. Nobody subscribes to Peacock.
clutzycook@reddit
Right? This is the first I've heard about it too.

Cobra Kai?
HistorianJRM85@reddit
If Lisa Bonet is not in it, I'm not watching.
...just like the last time 'A Different World' was on the air...

I always thought Cree Sunmers and Charnele Brown were the hottest.

Young Jada Pinkett was also very pretty.

Taker her name out of your mouth

It was a great show but

It was a great show

Yes it was and how many sequel, spinoff, reboots didn't suck? Fuller House, that 90s Show, Girl meets World, Saved by the Bell...

Mad About You, Murphy Brown…
NotRadTrad05@reddit
I forgot how terrible the Murphy Brown reboot was. I don't think it even made it a full season.

Because no one in their formative ages right now is sitting down to watch a show that is 40 years old.
Lessons may be the same but the world changes. New stories with different characters get sprinkled in.
freedraw@reddit
Because they're running out of old sitcoms to reboot and cancel after two lackluster new seasons I guess?

Tv channel company’s are desperate for ideas so they will throw money at anything. Even if it is likely to fail and embarrass’s a great childhood series.

Will Bill Cosby be tutoring Asian models on Tuesdays? IYKYK

Leave everyone alone, Gilbert

YK

Who is the target audience for this?
MyNameCannotBeSpoken@reddit (OP)
They just need to target high school and college students. Just like the original.
The nostalgia is just for parents.
NotRadTrad05@reddit
That has been the problem for pretty much all the reboots. They can't decide if they're making a new show from existing IP for a new audience or if they want a nostalgia show for the original fans and end up pleasing neither.
DoctorFenix@reddit
Cobra Kai actually did a great job of this.
MyNameCannotBeSpoken@reddit (OP)
They should just target a new audience and throw in some old characters as administrators.
The_Fell_Opian@reddit
Can we just get the Sinbad genie movie instead?
onepostandbye@reddit
I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Vicki is getting into now! I guess robots don’t age, so maybe they’ll use CG to match her appearance from the original series?
The_Fell_Opian@reddit
Was probably mixing up Out of this World with Small Wonder.
FajitaTits@reddit
Are you talking about Small Wonder?

🪦
