Looking for a reliable e bike for under 800$

Any recommendations I've been looking at the tamobyke v20. The jasion retro volt pro. And a few others but I haven't been able to make a decision. Any input would be greatly appreciated

You are looking for a unicorn. Even the used market for good ebikes bottoms out at $1000.

Nothing you’re talking about is good. They’re *all* dropshipped crap from Alibaba. The big problem is the battery. You can chose two:

* Cheap
* Won’t burn your house down
* Lasts long enough to be useful

Realistically, ebike batteries have a price floor of $400. Motors tend to run $250. And a reliable bicycle to put it on costs $600.

If you actually need transportation, get either an electric kick scooter or a regular pedal bike. At your price point, an electric bike is not a good choice.

For reliability, I'd recommend either the Lectric XP 2 Lite or the Ride1up Portola.

Otherwise, I'd suggest that you checkout anything labeled under either Schwinn or Concord at Walmart.

Schwinn bikes are designed by Pacific Bicycles (a huge bicycle manufacturing company) and they will always be a good source for any upgrades or replacement parts.

Concord is WALMART'S in-house bike brand and they'll stand behind any promised warranty, promise, or claim it had offered.

You can also return these bikes to any Walmart store for a full and complete refund within 30 days, if you develop any problems.

Just always buy the 2 year warranty and some aftermarket insurance for theft and liability.
