The reward for level of restraint means I got to eat 3 of these.

That better be a thick slice of egg and not an onion
tshhh_xo@reddit (OP)
Yes, of course m’lord
tokyo_driftr@reddit
Idk man it’s looking very oniony
tshhh_xo@reddit (OP)
I was recreating a sausage and egg McMuffin, if there was gonna be onion in this recipe it would be in the burger sauce, (which I Cba to make hence the ketchup) lol
tokyo_driftr@reddit
I’ve never seen a sausage egg McMuffin with ketchup so forgive my skepticism
tshhh_xo@reddit (OP)
Skepticism forgiven! In England they don’t add the sauces, you have to ask for it separately, they give you a little sachet/packet to add yourself
tokyo_driftr@reddit
I’m American and I don’t think I’ve ever seen any sauce on a sausage egg muffin before ever. I’ve never even heard of eating breakfast sausage with ketchup but I won’t knock it until I try it
tshhh_xo@reddit (OP)
So you just raw dog it dry? With NO sauce?! My flabbers are ghasted!
tokyo_driftr@reddit
I mean, the cheese 😭 but otherwise it’s one of the few “dry” sandwiches in my mind. I do eat sandwiches with just turkey and American cheese with nothing else sometimes so I might just be the weird minority here lol
schw4161@reddit
I’m the same. Not with the turkey sandwiches, but the McMuffins. Most of the time it can be so greasy it doesn’t really need a sauce imo lol
tripplol@reddit
they give jelly/jam with it in the US. typically grape & strawberry
ShootLucy@reddit
I love the grape jellyjam.
Justin_milo@reddit
You have sex with your McMuffin?
slothloves@reddit
Keeps it from drying out
Psychological_Buy726@reddit
Tbf our "sausage" is pretty juicy here in the States. When the cheese melts and the sausage leaks and everything basically tastes like salt, anyway, it sorta works for us!
asquishypanda@reddit
I hate ketchup but im a huge fan of mustard with breakfast sausage
alextastic@reddit
They don't come with sauce on them, but I definitely used to put ketchup on mine. I also definitely just used ketchup when I had sausage and/or eggs outside of McMuffin situations. It's a good combo. Tastes good on breakfasty potatoes too, like hashbrowns or home fries.

What does the Chinese Basketball Association have to do with this?
ThePsychoKnot@reddit
Of all the ways to cook an egg, you chose boiled for a breakfast sandwich
tshhh_xo@reddit (OP)
I was sad too, trust me. I’d done a batch of hard boiled so it’s all I had.
Yoguls@reddit
r/onionlovers would disagree
NationalisePureGym@reddit
Done these homemade a few times, they taste better than McDonald's.
Successful-Fig-1468@reddit
Assuming that boiled egg?
Would highly reccomend getting either a small ramekin or a muffin pan (I believe there’s simple recipes for baking quick egg pucks). Ramekin you can hit with some nonstick spray, crack an egg in it, pierce the yolk, cover it and microwave for like 40 seconds to a minute to get a solid egg puck for breakfast sandos
codingwoes_help@reddit
maybe should've
xblackdemonx@reddit
Looks great!
BingusTheWonderKitn@reddit
Eww American "cheese" this is indeed shitty
Resident_Aside_5276@reddit
That cheese ain't melty.
posthamster@reddit
And who puts the cheese under the patty? Serial killer material right here.
karmavorous@reddit
I do this, but I graduated from English Muffins to bagels for the bread.
I toast the bagels on my griddle so they're hot. Then I put the cheese on the bottom half of the bagel, then I put the egg on top of that, then I put the ham or sausage, then the top of the bagel.
By the time I sit down and take my first bite, the cheese has melted through the hole in the bagel and I have a delicious warm dollop of melted cheese on my plate.
Which is my neoclassical deconstruction the melty cheese that would be stuck to the inside of the wrapper at a fast food place.
NickyNichols@reddit
Ketchup with eggs is a food crime.
rashandal@reddit
Doesn't look half bad. I would be happy to have it.
Just put the cheese on top of the meat next time, not under it
freakingusernamedood@reddit
Probably tastes better than their breakfast does now, anyway.
xjester8@reddit
Nah their breakfast is still great, unhealthy but great
freakingusernamedood@reddit
Maybe your McDonald's is better then mine. Last few times I had it, it made me very, very sad. And its not like its cheap anymore.
Bigoweiner@reddit
The price is what makes me sad. $3 for a hash brown! Are you kidding me?!
xjester8@reddit
You gotta use the app, it was $5 for a sausage egg McMuffin meal
freakingusernamedood@reddit
Right, like I can go right now and buy a 3 lb. bag of (kinda small and shitty, but still) russet potatoes for $3 and make an unholy amount of hash browns. Feed myself for days, instead of the 5 minutes one fast food hashbrown will do the trick for, for the same potato price.
MadTapprr@reddit
Unpopular opinion here I know, but McDonalds hash browns aren’t good anyway. Get the bogo for $1 sandwich deal on the app and it’s an unbeatable deal
notagainrly@reddit
It's also the most consistent thing they do. It's always good.
wheatgivesmeshits@reddit
Yea, McDonald's breakfast is pretty damn good if I'm being honest. They have a steak, egg, and cheese bagel that's really great, and the classic McMuffin is still awesome.
You can talk a lot of shit about McDonald's but their breakfast is still really good, especially if you compare to any other fast food chain. The only one I consider close is Whataburger. They have a jalapeno cheddar biscuit that makes me weak in the knees.
PizzasForFerrets@reddit
Sliced boiled egg and a dry looking burger. These can be great made at home, but that isn't it.
ST4nHope@reddit
Those muffins are one of the few things I liked in McDs. It's close enough lol.
noleafclovr@reddit
Way cheaper and way better quality. I make English muffin breakfast and and hamburgers all the time. Way better!
tshhh_xo@reddit (OP)
Took quicker to make than McDonald’s would take to deliver to me! Definitely will do again 😁
Baron-Von-Mothman@reddit
You don't say
Alternative-Aside-64@reddit
Might wanna toast the English muffin next time instead of blowing warm breath at it.
Lol jk looks good!
tshhh_xo@reddit (OP)
I tried toasting it in the air fryer. Will have words for next time lol

Yeah, same tastes anyway
Cainjake@reddit
Not shitty at all I would devour one of those
