HTF is 15 trucks involved?
NWdabest@reddit
It’s not like you can see for miles and miles. What do you think there’s just corn fields out there?
But really I hope everyone’s ok and HTF is 15 trucks involved?

Its funny, you always have these ideas in your head what states will be like, then as a driver you travel through and all the tv shows and cartoons got it so wrong. Half of Colorado is flat as hell until you hit the foothills, Montana isnt a mountain everywhere you look, Texas certainly isnt cattle ranches and cowboys unless you happen to be right on top of them. And Nebraska isnt all cornfield, mostly rolling grassy hills without a crop to be seen.

I was most suprised by seeing vineyards in New York. But I’m a Kansas boy so am always interested in seeing the local agriculture
xoutlawtrucker@reddit
FL has some crazy agriculture if you know where to look. Sugar cane, pineapple, potatoes, grass *for lawns, and of course everything citrus. Most people lived there their entire lives and never realized. Dont get me wrong, I hate FL with the passion of 1000 fires for many reasons, but it has some interesting AG. Another area which is mind blowing is Central Valley CA, you name it and they grow it out there, taking I-5 or 99 and you cant miss it. 25% of ALL our food is grown there. The AG show there is mind boggling and the tech is crazy. plenty of big truck parking, and if you are a farm boy its a lifetime must at least once. I was born and raised in NYC until I got cursed by trucking in my early 20's, so I kind of grew into it due to work.
driver004@reddit
Yeah everything you said about Florida is pedestrian given the climate soil and water

I remember taking some back roads through Nebraska when I was OTR and coming across fields of sunflowers as far as the eye could see!
Deadbeatdone@reddit
I reckon they just fall asleep at the wheel then its curtains.
kniveshu@reddit
Close following distance, sudden stopping event, not quick enough stopping by who knows how many?
SashaDabinsky@reddit
Lots of stupid involved.

I can’t find much info online but yea that’s what I’m hearing. 12-15 anyway https://rivercountry.newschannelnebraska.com/story/289765330/multi-vehicle-crash-closes-interstate-80-near-ogallala
JankyMark@reddit
That’s crazy
xoutlawtrucker@reddit
I was running through there all day yesterday, had some crazy blinding rain, but everyone was shockingly spaced far apart so it wasnt a issue.
spartanantler@reddit
At that time at least
Cfwydirk@reddit
I wonder if CB radios could have saved a few from this.
potatocross@reddit
Its crazy, I have almost never run a CB, and also managed to never run the fuck into the back of anyone else. Maybe its just because I actually look ahead and slow if I see something I am unsure of or can't see what is ahead of me.
Stop blaming the lack of CBs for shitty drivers.
TheRealMrSpeedBump@reddit
He, uh... most likely he meant the CB would save others from getting stuck in that huge traffic jam. Not a crash.
potatocross@reddit
Cool. My gps does that for me as well.
Cracka56@reddit
Cool, so why did you reply to begin with
dontdoxmebro2@reddit
I’ve only drive through Nebraska once but the route closed looks like there’s literally no other way to get by.
HowlingWolven@reddit
Did a tor rip through?
SashaDabinsky@reddit
I didn't think of that. Reed Timmer did post about it picking up around 4 - 5 PM yesterday.
WHODUNNITT303@reddit
Following distance is a thing for a reason

Route 30 is always an option
Defiant-Medicine3014@reddit (OP)
Yea That’s exactly what I’m doing. They’re directing everyone over. Must’ve been extremely fucking bad
