Q20 for pedalling

my schools having a biking unit, we go down into this provencial park and bike it. very mellow apparently but we do have to bike a bit downhill. I need a bike but don’t have one, and I’m thinking of using this as an excuse to get my mom to help fund a ridstar. only this is, teacher said I would have to remove the battery and give it to him. So would pedalling up a decent hill and around a provincial park be doable with the ridstar?

the fire hazard warning has already been made, but also consider this:
far tyres-> more rolling and pedaling resistance
hub drive-> more drag on the rear wheel->more rolling and pedaling resistance
no adjustable seat height->can't get the height adjusted to your leg, so suboptimal pedaling
overweight moped frame-> more rolling and pedaling resistance
any fat tyre moped is pretty much the worst conbo of features for pedaling with the power off.
what you want if you are serious about pedaling without power is a light mid-drive on tyres in the 1.5"-2.4" range depending on terrain

There isn't much resistance. It's just heavy.
The main reason it's bad to pedal is the seat. It's a saddle seat and we are trying to pedal on it?

lol...not a lot of resistance...
have you ever gone from something like a 2,4" mtb tyre setup to a roadbike on 30mm? the difference in rolling resistance alone is pretty insane.
fat tyres are inherently worse for rolling resiatnce due to the extreme width.
plus the weight ..

Baha do it. You're about to learn how shitty that "bike" is.

It's super hard to pedal. I put pegs on mine.

If you must get an e bike despite everyone je else warning against one, I recommend looking into Kingbull, they make really nice e bi is for the money. Your teacher should allow you to use the battery to get uphill at the very least.

It kind of sucks to ride an ebike when it’s not powered. You’re young - get a regular bike and enjoy it. Get an ebike when you’re older and your knees suck.

Knees already suck bro, osgood schlatters syndrome in both of em gotta wear bands 24/7

Then get a good brand - go to a real bike shop and tell them all of this. It’s a waste of money to cheap out upfront since you’ll just end up spending more to replace stuff or the whole bike itself when the cheap components break.

Avoid ridstar brand, they are a fire hazard.
