Paper straws who?
Dresass@reddit
I was going to say I have not seen these in a while. Looked it up. Most Breweries in Norway stopped in 2018 and in 2021 it was forbidden at least here in Norway.
Charrbard@reddit
hah yeah, Been doing this my whole life cause of them.
GravyPainter@reddit
We still do that. Then i realized i live 1000 miles from any beach and all our trash is put in landfills
Metamorphica_0226@reddit
Yup! And the little tiny holes I cut and call the guppy holes. That’s my own thing.
smolstuffs@reddit (OP)
I always think to myself "I don't need to cut the tiny holes, I mean turtles aren't really getting stuck in those, are they?" And then I'm like "well better safe than sorry" and cut them too.
Apawling_Behavior@reddit
I never think Turtles. I think Dolphins. They can get stuck in the tiny holes. #nanodolphins
NoTimeForCautionCoop@reddit
My wife thinks I’m weird for cutting the tiny holes…lol
Apawling_Behavior@reddit
all holes gettin cut.

Grounds for divorce
Metamorphica_0226@reddit
But what about the tiny fish and guppy’s that could get stuck in there if this ends up in water?!? That’s why we cut the guppy holes.
NoTimeForCautionCoop@reddit
Yeah I always tell her she hates tiny turtles and tiny fish.. she doesn’t like that..lol. But you Gotta think about the guppy’s.
_lippykid@reddit
Why is this considered odd?
I get recycling is problematic on a couple of fronts (1. A lot ends up in landfill anyway, and 2. Corporate industry is by far the main polluter)
but this seems like a pretty easy and obvious thing to do, no?
jikt@reddit
I do agree, though I guess it's way easier for pelicans and fish to swallow when it's all cut up.
My question these days is: Who was throwing my fucking trash in the ocean anyway?
In the 80s, before recycling, my expectation was that when we put our garbage out each week that it was being taken to landfill.
Then, to my surprise, my garbage is in the ocean killing sea turtles?
I feel that we were all being blamed for the wrong thing back then. It should have been: excessive consumerism which necessitates excessive pollution. But the corporations would cry if you didn't but their latest plastic shit.
And we wouldn't want that now, would we.
smolstuffs@reddit (OP)
Can't win for losing, man
But also, who's dumping our fucking trash in the ocean?
DoctorDividend@reddit
This is especially important to do in central Ohio, save the sea turtles!
smolstuffs@reddit (OP)
We're all in this together, man
