A big part of that problem may be the venue -- I've been to Merriweather Post Pavilion, it's an awesome amphitheatre. Not the biggest outdoor space for a one-day show with this caliber of lineup, I wouldn't think.

Merriweather is a huge venue with multiple stages. Some of these bands will be playing on the smaller stage while the top billed artists play at the main stage. I go to the festival here and you just have to walk back and forth.
