9mm PDWs - Would you do a Flux Raider or some sort of MP5 build?

Lately I’ve had an itch to build out some sort of small form 9mm. I travel a lot in the car and would love to have something a little more substantial than my p365 axg. I think leaving something in the car is a horrible idea, so it needs to be able to fit into a backpack really easy.
I’m going back and forth on a Flux Raider or MPX. TP-9’s are also cool.
What are your thoughts on small form 9mm’s? Does anyone have one they run in PCC divisions at matches? I would definitely run it in matches to get proficient (as we all should with any platform we plan on using defensively).
Any drawbacks for Flux vs MPX vs TP-9?

I had a flux Raider and it was sort of nice but you can reach the skill ceiling on it quick. For most people it’s a good option but if you’re looking to do more with the weapon, look elsewhere.
It has horrible accuracy. I’m not kidding when I say it patterns a 10 MOA circle at 50 yards.
It is borderline unsuppressible.
It cannot mount night vision equipment.
Now I’m going to throw a recommendation that some people will laugh at but I’ve been trying to chase this form factor in a gun that tackles these issues. And it’s the Masterpiece Arms Defender (MAC Clone). It’s a fixed barrel design so it won’t have the accuracy issues. Barrel mounts into a metal upper where the pic rail can’t move. You can put a small LAM on the top rail for night vision. You can use a flow through suppressor with no issues. Yes it’s a ghetto blaster and sort of a meme but mine has been 100% reliable and have dealt with the issues that my Raider had.

Damn dude I am glad to know about accuracy with the raiders. Accuracy to me is critical. I don’t like anything over 1 MOA. Masterpiece Arms makes great shit. I have a bolt action from them that is just on another level.

You’ll be extremely hard pressed to find a semi auto that’s under 1 MOA at 100yds, even some really high end ARs struggle doing that. I zeroed my Defender at 50 yesterday and it’s leaps and bounds more accurate than the Raider but it was still about 3moa @ 50.

For my use and locality, the flux raider would be my choice. Large receiver handguns like MP5, Kuna, Kriss, etc aren’t legal as handguns in NJ and to own them you either have to do the non nfa firearm route and pay more or AOW and again pay more. Flux fits in any decent sized bag and even in the center console of my car. It’s kind of tight to use but it’s very well designed and efficient and have no problem using it. An other legal NJ pdw option is the mpa defender which is an other nice option surprisingly

The MP5 or TP9 will shoot better in every way.
But the Raider can be inside waistband conceal carried. Or carried as a sidearm in a traditional pistol holster.
They fill different but similar roles. The TP9 and MP5 are like tiny less capable longarms, while the raider is a bigger more capable sidearm. The tiny longarms are still better, but the big sidearm is more concealable and carryable.

The two really aren’t the same class of weapon

P365 flux with an axg legion concealed. Mag reciprocity too!

I have had a legion 320 for years I ran in USPSA and other competitions. I recently went to a GTO. It’s been nice to be able to use my 320 ecosystem - the GTO fits in my 320 holster!
I have plenty of stuff for a 320 build.

No, I’d do an AR-9 PCC to mimic AR-15 controls and maintain the SMG-like vibes.

That’s definitely a solid philosophy and will probably help my carbine more. Standardizing on one platform is def how you get the most reps in.

Springfield KUNA. Excellent 9mm PDW.

These look pretty rad. Kind of comparable to the stribog or scorpion, right?

MP5=size. Croatian manufacturer, like the XD. Brand new in US, (3-5 years) lots of fun. Stock makes it very controllable, Any red-dot makes it great.

Depends entirely on your particular use case. For yours I think a Flux 365 seems to be the best specific answer, as you can keep it holstered on your person without too much difficulty when not driving

I don’t really plan on carrying whatever this ends up being. It’s more like a truck gun that will never be in the truck unless I’m there.

AP5. A chassis will never compare

The smaller “P” variant is very much backpack sized and you can throw a folder on it

Despite the 320 stuff, I’m still dying to do a Flux 320 build with the El Camino topless chassis. The Polish PM-63 PDW is a very desired gun of mine, and the Flux seems like the closest I can get to replicating it

MP5's are cool, but they're way too big for what they do.

MP5 clones have basically never been cheaper my man, get you one

Ap5 runs very well, got it through Atlantic Firearms
