Will this be safe to drive on for a while until I can get a new tire next week? (Drove over a screw on the highway.)

It looks like you have slime in there. If it holds air send it. Maybe carry a hand pump with you just in case it starts to leak again but it should hold for a few miles. It’s not going to explode on you.

The slime is because of my innertube I use
It’s so I can see where the hole is. They’re quite nice for spotting holes in tires.

Not really misleading. They print the limits to that statement on the back. I think the hole needs to be <5mm for the slime to stop the flat. 5mm is still pretty massive

I wonder if it’s just because how hard I hit it then.
Because when I hit the screw I had a hard time getting it out even with a hammer. I had to use a pair of pliers to get it out

A screwwdriver woulda worked best.

You would think but it didn’t. I tried using a screw driver and it didn’t get it out at all. I’m surprised the rim wasn’t ruined.

Musta been one of those darn screws where the threads don't go all the way. I'm not sure what they're for other than to save manufacturing costs (and cause tire troubles)
dananapatman@reddit
Yeah I run those too. The slime stops the leak and seals the hole so you can add air back in
mil0wCS@reddit (OP)
I tried adding in air but it wouldn’t hold sadly. I think it’s probably good for nails but not for screws.
dananapatman@reddit
Sounds like you need a new tube then
mil0wCS@reddit (OP)
Yeah after having several flats this year I’ve gotten in the habit of keeping a backup
Vicv_@reddit
Put a new tube in there and you can ride it like that indefinitely.

Thanks. I plan on buying a rechargeable air pump soon and having a trunk on my bike with a spare and repair kit just in case because this just happens to often to me now. Happens almost every 2 or 3 weeks. Going to start taking the backroad instead of the highway now because it’s happening so frequently.
Fair-Discipline-1005@reddit
I will not ride, with or without slime, but this is only my humble oppinion,it will not explode, but air can get out, every few hundred meters... But if You must, take rechargeable air pump with you...

Patch the tube, or put in a new tube. The tyre will be fine.
CrashTestPhoto@reddit
Just repair or replace the tube.
Unless there's sidewall damage, there's absolutely no need to replace the tyre.

Yes, you should be alright!
